As mentioned previously, Herm Edwards was back home in Cali for his annual football camp. It looks like during his time out there, Coach Herm recently attended a prayer breakfast in Monterey, CA.
To
hear some of the quotes in this article, it is clear why players
respond to Herm. It isn't that he is such a master orator, it's that
his statements are simple, to the point, and there is truth in them.
I
know there are detractors of Herm (of which I am not), but his
character and clarity of purpose are certainly admirable. To counter
why this makes him capable or running a team, one could point out that
(as my dad always said) “Jimmy Carter was a great man, but made an
awful President.”
So, there can be somewhat of a disconnect, but
for me, it always seems like every time I hear him speaking (outside of
talking about injuries) I grow to respect him as a man more and more.
Bottom line, I think he is a good man to run the club…
