I was thinking about Bollinger this morning and how he will fare against the Ravens. What I was trying to think through was how the game will play out…
I want to know whether you think, barring injuries, will Bollinger make it through the game or will he have a short leash with Vinny on the sidelines?
The Langer reports that Adrian Jones will be lining up at Left Tackle, while Fabini will move over to right, due to his knee injury from last week.
It's a smart move to move the ailing Fabini to right, where Bollinger will get a clearer picture of the pressure Fabini will or won't allow. What remains to be seen is how Jones will fare against Baltimore, a hefty first test…
Dripping with sarcasm, Billick began his press conference with this statement:
“Tomorrow, we're going to take up a donation for the New York Jets' relief fund. Because based on what I'm reading and hearing, I can't imagine these guys showing up. Good lord, I can't turn on the TV without seeing [hurricanes] Katrina, Rita, and oh my God, the Jets. I'm digging in my pockets for money.”
“I know the Jets aren't thinking that way,” Billick said. “[Running back] Curtis Martin is going to show up. [Center] Kevin Mawae is going to be there. [Cornerback] Ty Law is going to be there.”
He may not be the “Offensive Genius” he was once branded (by the media no less), but he definitely knows how to wag the dog…
On the official site's interview with Herm this week, he takes some questions on the QB situation, Vinny's return, and his personal life.
David Ginsburg writes that the Jets and Ravens are both facing a team this weekend that has some similar concerns.
Should make for a very interesting, or very boring, matchup.
According to reports, the Jets have signed a deal with the Giants to build a new stadium in the Meadowlands. Woody stated that the deal “came together very suddenly.”
The Giants are going to move their practice facility a little farther away than it is now and they are planning on putting on a retractable roof.
How do you feel about this? Happy? Frustrated? What?
John Brennan writes that it seems that most of the major wrinkles have been worked out according to Jersey politicians for a new Meadowlands Stadium.
Brennan does state some conflicting reports from others sources (Jets and Giants) who either are more tight-lipped, or more dour on the possible resolution…
After a few days of distractions, it's time now to look towards the
game this weekend. Since I haven't had the chance to do any real
analysis of the Ravens and since there hasn't been too much in the news
with the other distractions, I wanted get a sense what you think of the
game this weekend…
What are the important matchups?
How ready will Bollinger be?
Can the line protect him?
Will Martin and Blaylock get the ground game going?
What are the important factors for the Jets to win on the road?
Checked the NFL Players' to see if any Jets had left thoughts on the way things were going. Of course, our friend Mr. Mawae had something to say that I think was worthwhile.
back on the wagon when we get going! No one likes a part time, “its all good”
when the team is winning fan!
Obviously, we fans are are a little
low right now, but what are your opinions on his statement? The
more I think about it the harder it is to understand his point here…
Does he mean we need to just “rah-rah” cheer all the time, no matter what kind of team the Jets are fielding?
I don't feel like an “its all good” fan, but it isn't all good right now… am I supposed to say nothing?
The rags are reporting that today will mark a deadline for the head of NJSEA regarding the potential joint stadium project between the Jets and the Giants.
I don't expect that either team will budge, and this process will continue on again for another few months…
FoxSports is reporting that Andrews was able to confirm that Pennington's injury was in fact a torn rotator cuff, not just a scar tissue tear.

What this all means is the following:
1) No more media jerking us around, Pennington is definitely out for the year.
2) Pennington might not have to undergo the knife again, but they are planning on evaluating his status in a few weeks Whether this means he will be able to play again is still uncertain, but the source was positive about his future.
3) If Pennington can't play, the Jets will hope to hold onto him as long as they can due to the cap hit.
When asked about Chad's status, Edwards stated that he doesn't expect
Chad back, no matter what the other reports are, and until he is told
otherwise, will not expect to see Pennington on the field this
season.
Herm got pretty hot and ran on for
about six minutes stating that he didn't lie, and that he won't talk
more about Chad's injury everyday.
