News: Left-Right-Left

The Langer reports that Adrian Jones will be lining up at Left Tackle, while Fabini will move over to right, due to his knee injury from last week.

It's a smart move to move the ailing Fabini to right, where Bollinger will get a clearer picture of the pressure Fabini will or won't allow.  What remains to be seen is how Jones will fare against Baltimore, a hefty first test…

  1. I can't say I know what is going on in practice and I'm sure his grasp of the offense is limited, but wouldn't a healthy, natural right tackle like Scott Gragg be a better option than an injured Fabini? And what about Goodwin? Isn't he the omni-position back-up on the O-line?
With the Pennington/Fiedler and, to a lesser degree, Fabini injuries grabbing all of the headlines, no one seems to be concerned with the loss of Eric Barton. That's huge! Brown, his replacement, is very capable and I like how he's been playing when the Jets switch to the 3-4, but Barton has been outstanding for us.
Are the 2005 Jets the 2004 Panthers in terms of injuries?

  2. I agree on Barton.
The OL issue will be interesting, because unless we acquire a starter in the offseason, that may be the alignment we are looking at next year.
Goodwin is mainly an interior lineman, I think, although he can fill in in an emergency. I guess the Jets must have more confidence that Fabini is more tuned in to the new zonal blocking system than Gragg.
