News: Barton Out Sunday

by Bassett on October 1st, 2005 at 12:57 pm

At this point, Linebacker Eric Barton is out for Sunday's game.  This is a big loss for the Jets, as Barton generally is second only to Vilma in tackles on the team, which will put a lot more pressure on his replacement, Mark Brown, to play well.  Here are the top two producers in terms of tackles so far this season and last.

Although it is a big loss for our starting secondary, I think Mark Brown will step in admirably. As long as he can tackle well and wrap up Jamal Lewis we'll be OK.
Hey at least we can't expect a roughing the passer on 4th the long in the Red Zone with less than 20 sec onthe clock!

Time reports that Barton's injury is a “high ankle sprain”.
I haven't a clue as to what the difference is between a high and low ankle sprain, but I always here the higher sprains are more serious and take longer to heal.
