Buzz: You Got Another Thing Comin'

“The circle is now complete. When I met you I was but the learner. Now, *I* am the master.” – Darth Vader

Want to know why the Heimerdinger thing took so long? Might have something to do with a turf war… Check what Peter King is hearing about the goings on inside the Jets' organization:

3. I think I would be very surprised if Jets GM Terry Bradway is still with the team a year from today. There's a turf war over who exactly has the power to hire and fire front-office personnel, and I hear Eric Mangini is winning.

Since everyone else in the league can push around Bradway, I don't see any reason why Mangini shouldn't also push around Bradway.

As I've said before, Mangini's best move will be to rid himself of Bradway.

I can see this as a headline soon –” B-Rad has lost his way!”
I like the B. Shottenheimer hire. Chris Palmer would've been another Hackett — conservative and overrated. The last thing Mangini wants is someone like Mike Martz who'll lobby for every available HC vacancy.

Shottenheimer is german for Whale's Va….
Nah it's german for Conservative in the Playoffs.

I don't believe this for a minute. If Bradway has shown anything throughout his tenure, it's that he's willing to bend over backwards to accomodate coaches, coordinators and players. It's his style, and it's probably hurt him as GM (a.k.a. he's got a good enough eye to draft Santana Moss, Lamont Jordan and Kareem Mackenzie out of the gate, but he's willing to let James Farrior walk and bring in Sam Cowart to make his DC happy).
Bradway will do everything in his power to give Mangini the players he wants.
(And for those who are so gung-ho on Mangini corralling as much power as possible, would you mind telling me what leads you to believe he has the first clue about scouting talent?)
