Although it was just a footnote, it appears that Trey Teague visited with the Jets yesterday. Teague is a league vet of eight years and is a competent starter. The skinny is that he is a good leader, can call out the right protections, is mobile, can help the guards in the pass and run, but lacks sufficient upper body strength and has a tough time against premiere NTs.
Other than that, his wife is cute and he likes to hunt stuff.

MT's continuing to buff up that dt position. I like this signing…

From Scouts.com for ESPN.com on the 31 year old:
“Teague is athletic, and has good height and long arms. He has very quick feet and good agility. He can pull and lead the zone play. He is effective getting to the second level and blocking the moving target. He makes all the line calls and displays leadership qualities. He has a good first step and takes good angles to his blocks. He does a good job of passing off and picking up line stunts and blitzes in the middle. He can mirror and slide, and reset his feet in pass protection. He keeps his butt aimed at the quarterback. He lacks the bulk and strength to be a dominant player inside. He plays better when left uncovered and lacks an explosive punch. He sometimes has trouble when a defender lines up over his nose. He is a bit of a waist-bender and doesn't always play with good leverage. He won't knock opponents off the line and is more of a screen-and-wall-off guy. He sometimes loses his base and can be knocked back, but will battle. He locks on well with his hands and works hard to finish blocks. He's had injury problems in the past.”
Sounds like a real downgrade from Mawae who was also weak at the point of attack.
