According to Cimini and the Daily News, eyebrows might have been raised when Mangini and Tannenbaum didn't attend the USC Pro Day, but it seems that Bradway was there to watch Leinart's work.
[that] GM Mike Tannenbaum and coach Eric Mangini, didn't attend the workout might seem revealing, but know this: An entire Jets entourage, including the bosses, will be in Los Angeles on April 17 to huddle with Leinart, the Daily News learned. That session will include a workout and a skull session in the classroom.
Further down, Cimini informs us that the “buzz” at the event was that the Jets would be looking at D'Brick or Mario Williams with the #4.
Bradway, under the gag order by his new bosses, declined to comment on Leinart's workout. For what it's worth, the buzz at the workout had the Jets picking Virginia tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson or North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams.
It's clear at #4 those two players might be the two best options, but I won't rule anything out for this regime until I see more of what their M.O. is.

Bradway's 1st round history isn't all that bad. Moss (01), B. Thomas (02), Robertson (03), Vilma (04). The only bust, so far, has been Thomas. Vilma and Moss are Pro Bowlers and Robertson was the only DT to win AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors last season. I know most fans are down on Dwayne, but I blame the Bradway-Herm “braintrust” for screwing up his development by not re-signing Ferguson. Thomas has not panned out, so far (and they could've taken Ed Reed…OUCH!); but, his defensive stats at DE were better than Kimo's last season. He has some promise going forward. So, I don't think Bradway's all that bad as a talent evaluator. It's the decisions on how to use and retain that talent that Herm and Terry messed up.

I think the Jets are absolutely interested in Leinart; the question is whether they are so interested that they feel they have to move up, or whether they are willing to stay at four and let the draft come to them. I'm sure Williams and Ferguson, but particularly Williams, are targets if the quarterback they want is no longer there, but the team's first choice would be to take a quarterback, and I would have to think Leinart would be their preference. (The question is whether or not Young can enter the mix with a strong individual workout.)

If the Jets don't get or trade up to get Leinart, how about Vernon Davis? As much as I like Hawk, Davis has a chance to be a real game-breaker. Sprinter's speed in a TE body. In today's NFL with the “Ty Law Rule” TEs are an integral part of the offense and Davis is a unique talent. I know people will say “Johnny Mitchell” but at LB we could also say “Bob Crable.” Davis is a flat out stud and given that Bioli in NE has taken two TEs in the first round, I wouldn't be surprised if Davis is the pick.

Seems like Bradway still has a big say on what goes on with the Jets. Which does not bode well for this draft.
