With the 150th pick of the draft …

… the Jets select Jason Pociask, Tight End from Wisconsin. When the player himself admits his suprise at being taken in the draft, that's all the answer you need. Pociask was a backup to Owen Daniels at Wisconsin, and this move seems like a head-scratcher to me.

Pociask is another guy that graded out by most as an undrafted free agent type. Pociask fits the Mangini model, and is lauded as a hard worker who gives top effort. Pociask's athetlic skills have been questioned and is known as a blocking tight end with blocking issues. I have to wonder if there was no one else the Jets could have taken with this pick… Will Pociask have trouble making the roster? I have no idea, but this could signal Joel Dreesen's looming departure. I can't understand why the Jets selected another Tight End, with three on the roster already and three fullbacks. If he does make the team, at most it will be as a special teamer.
