[...] Canny, we don’t forget your hatchet job this past summer when D’Brick wouldn’t talk to you (and those poor, poor fans). Now you are honored to be on the beat of a potential AFC Coach of the Year? [...]

I think its an outrage that the reporters did not have access to the players whenever they wanted. Its disgraceful. There is nothing a fan hates more than a beat reporter not getting what he/she wants. Give me a break Canizzaro, no one really cares about the plight of a reporter trying to get a quote from a player or coach. We're Jets fans, the more camp looks and smells like a bellichek/parcells regime the better even if it means you have to work harder to find information. Boo Friggin Who.

Didn't take long for Mangini to go hide in a spider hole. Taking on the media, especially in New York, is a battle that can't be won.. See Chad Pennington and his 'Its a priveldge to be a New York Jet beat writer'. What's worse is causing D'Brickasaw Ferguson to run away and refuse to sign any autographs for young Jet fans..... an easy way to convert them to being Giant fans. Bellichek and Parcells have the credentials to get away with this sort of behavior, but Mangini needs all the help he can get, including the support of the local media. Amateurish, boorish, non-productive and a signature move by a front office in over their heads.

bassett-
i'm the one who posted that comment re cimini's negative bias yesterday. i know you were probably kidding, but not sure why you would need to delete my post?!
back to the point, the jet's press coverage is turning into a three ring circus. the majority of them are clueless and are putting themselves above the story. i can't stand people that defend cimini just bc he gets good info. here's the response i posted on his blog to those who chose to defend him.
keep up the good work on this site, it's a breath of fresh air.

with all do respect, anyone who defends cimini is clueless. while he is good at getting information, he's a horrible journalist because he puts his ego above the story. can anyone explain to me how press access is in anyway relavant to winning football games? see, when cimini gets spurned he puts a negative spin on his stories as if it somehow correlates to the team's ability to win or lose. the fact of the matter is as a fan, i want mangini and the team focused on winning football games as opposed to the hearts and minds of the media. newsflash for the media: you don't have to write a story every day if there isn't one. this is part of the problem with the jets press coverage. they want to be spoonfed stories every day. go find a story. differentiate yourself. writing a story about how you weren't able to be spoonfed a story isn't news a jet fan finds worthwhile, interesting or relevant.
are you getting it yet rich?
