  1. I thought it was interesting that Justin McCareins seems to already be in the dog house, not passing Mangini's new criteria. I kind of like the approach and I think it sends a good message to players to be in shape.

  2. gotta love the hypocricy of the press. some free speech. i wrote a comment on cimini's blog criticizing him for saying “let's talk football” and then following it up with some “woe is me” story about how the jets are being hard on the media as evidenced by the coffee situation. cimini is the master at manipulative journalism. plain and simple.

  3. Anybody want to comment on what Trevor Johnson brings to the WOLB position? What is his past history?

  4. I think we may see a fair amount of relative unknown guys in the starting rotation in the early going.
The “experts” say that running a competition is too hard and time consuming because there aren't enough snaps. While this is true, that will work itself out down the road as front-runners emerge at each position. I think the real time limitation that makes open competition hard is the coaching staff's ability to synthesize performances and make objective decisions AFTER practice ends.
I'm thinking he needs to see guys he has little to no film or experience on early, so that he can make cuts, etc.
