- Hooray Bollinger!!!
- Smarmy PK notes that the Jets should get Branch since the team has taken everything else that isn't nailed down from Foxboro… hee hee, that's funny King.
- PK also drops a best case scenario for all the NFL teams.
- Chad drops some thoughts about his relationship with the potty-mouthed Brian Schottenheimer.
- Cimini and T-Rock read into Bollinger's being named as the starter in the least meaningful game of the year.

Now, to address Bassett's post!
I commend you for realising that “the battle of who could care less” has pretty much jumped the shark as a headline for such events as the Bollybowl. We are the cutting edge of tabloid style headline writers here, doncha know.
By the way, Michael Kay of ESPN radio has apparently been saying we can't cut Ramsey because it would lead to a $4m cap hit. I think he has his wires crossed and has got mixed up with the situation re: Justin. Can radio journalists get snarkies?
According to PK's best case scenario, it looks like the best we can hope for is an 8-8 season with all 8 wins being close games and 3 of our losses also being close. So we are 3 freak events away from being a team that has a best case scenario of going 11-5!
I know that sounds good (OK perhaps not so much), but as I said here before, I'm still not convinced that will get you in the playoffs anyway. Oh dear. -
Umm. Bollinger it is NOT.

I was pretty hard on Bolly last year, wondering why Herm would have put him on the 53 if he couldn't potentially be the starter. After all, QBs go down all the time in this league.
Lets not forget, though, he started 9 NFL games last season which is more than we can say for Patrick Ramsey, obviously more than Clemens, and more than a lot of other starters and backups in the league. (Uhh.. Jeff George, anyone?) I think that experience is very, very valuable. Many QBs, even top tier ones, take a season to get their rhythm. That said, its not like he'll see a lot of action this year since we hope to not be down big, and don't expect to ever be up big.
In an ideal scenario, where our QBs stay healthy all year and Chad holds on to the starting job, I think that we could do a lot worse at #3 than Brooks.
The problem comes in if Penny is done for the year either because he a) is ineffective or b) is injured. I'd be a little concerned with Brooks moving into the 2 spot in that situation, but I don't think you make the decision now based on that.
Besides, there's a great option available should the unthinkable happen:

Sheesh, remember all the hype about how bringing in Fiedler kept the playoff dreams alive should Chad not be ready to play at the beginning of the season? Please. I hated him in Miami, and just as much in Green and White (OK, a little less in Green and White.)
