  • Cimini thinks Pete Kendall is set to return.
  • Power Ranking Check Current Rank: ESPN 19, CBS 20, Fox 19, F.O. 23 : Interesting how they have climbed from basically the 30s to low 20s in three weeks. Watch now as the go back to mid to low 20s over the next two weeks if they lose both games.
  • Executive Order: Stay out of a track meet with the Colts.
  • Cimini talks to Barlow about his relationship with T.O.
  • I held another press conference yesterday with the New York Media.
  • If you didn’t see the Green Day U2 footage from Monday night, it’s finally on youtube. Billy Joe sounds a little flat at times, but Bono kicks ass as normal.
  • I don’t want to get into this whole T.O. thing, but Kim Etheredge has to be the worst publicist ever. If you haven’t seen the video, you can check it at ESPN Motion (right side). All I am going to say, is after her poor assessment of the situation, she then is at a national press conference chewing gum, and saying things like “he’s got 25 million reasons to be alive!” Terrell needs a better publicist, maybe Shauna from Entourage is available.

I couldn’t agree more. I was watching that press conference last night, and I could not believe the way that she ended that interview.

“He’s got 25 million reasons to be alive”!?!?! Wow. It’s hard to believe that anyone can be that inept at their job.

although our defense has given up alot of yards they are making plays that end long drives. Andre Dyson and David Barret both have 2 interceptions(NFL.com data) which shows they are making plays in the secondary..we still need to stop the run because we cannot always rely on turnovers..i think the offense can score between 17-28 points a game which is pretty good…but we have to stop long drives on defense. Peyton Manning scares the hell out of me…hey basset is thursday…when are you going to write your “keys to win the game vs. the colts” coloumn??

Why Power Rankings are stupid: The F.O. site has the Lions ranked HIGHER than the Jets even though they statistically rank lower in offense (Jets-4 vs. Det-19), defense (Jets-20 vs. Det-25) and special teams (Jets-”up” to 24 vs. Det-31). (Also known as “all facets of the game”.) Oh, and the Jets are 2-1 while Detroit is 0-3 and coming off a blowout loss at home to the Packers (a lower-ranked team).

That’s a sign that someone can’t see past either their own bias or are trying to prop up their own pre-season predictions. (“Hey, I know they’re 0-3 and have gotten beat by two teams that were worse than they last year, but I still maintain their going to make the playoffs.”)

All I have to say is that Kim Etheredge should be out of a job today. How is this incompetent fool even employed in the first place? First off she has no clue when it comes to vocabulary, stating that “T.O. has a great statue”, instead of stature. Then ending the press conference with “He’s got 25 Million reasons to be alive”. Talk about being shallow, this women really has no clue and you saw what she was all about yesterday.

How do they rank the Special Teams as a whole unit? It would seem that there are a lot of numbers to take into consideration in order for them to rank them definitively.

I like our Special Teams because: 1) we haven’t fumbled a punt or kickoff (big step up from last year) 2) Nugent has thankfully recovered from his nightmare Week 1 and 3) I think Graham is one of the best punters in the league, outside of his ill-timed shank against the Pats, he has been fantastic… including a super effort last weekend in windy Buffalo.

    Signs that Kim was lying:

Physical expression will be limited and stiff, with few arm and hand movements. Hand, arm and leg movement are toward their own body the liar takes up less space. [CHECK]

A guilty person gets defensive. An innocent person will often go on the offensive. [CHECK]

A liar is uncomfortable facing his questioner and may turn his head or body away. [CHECK]

Liars sometimes avoid “lying” by not making direct statements. They imply answers instead of denying something directly. [CHECK]
