Everyone is hung up on the field goal. If they did kick it, then they would kicked off instead of the Colts starting on their own 2 yard line. It would have changed the way the game was played. You cannot take something that happened in the third quarter and extrapolate it to the 4th quarter.

The Jets have no pass rush. But that kicker Nugent did not help with his lousy kickoffs. He was an overrated drfat pick and should be dumped for giving Indy great field position.

My group was 50-50 on kicking the field goal, before the decison was made. I agree with going for the TD, but if the decision was made that they were in four down territory, would have preferred they try the creative 4th down play the down before, rather than the standard run into the line.

Also, for a team that took so many chances and was so creative on offense, why not take some chances on defense during the final two drives? I was screaming for just one all out blitz!!

One of the most exciting Jet games I have ever seen, I am loving the direction of the team. We have a shot to make the playoffs this year, and while I was one of the few optimists this year that predicted 8-8 I never thought we could make a run at the postseason. Kudos to the staff, Woody should extend all their contracts right now.

I was actually impressed with the defense until the final 6 minutes of the game. Manning didn't look comfortable until then. The defensive play in the last 6 minutes And the missed KO return is the reason we lost. Chad had terrible field position and never really had a chance to drive the ball.

AFA the FG debate from the first half goes, I am glad he went for it. To get that close and not get in is frustrating, but it was the right decision. It looked to me like Chad had a chance to take it in himself if he just turned upfield rather than throwing into double coverage on the sideline.

As much as it rarely works, I liked the laterals on the last play of the game. It showed that the team was still fighting. I just hope Coles is okay. I know reports are that he just had his bell rung and I hope that's the case. As for Houston, it's pretty obvious by his behavior that he's done for a while. Just as he was starting to put things together a little too.

agree 1000000% with u matt.....great article on espn as well. Cant believe some guy in the street (with an ice coffee in his hand so that should have tipped me off he was a little moronic)....said we would have been tied at the end if we went for 3. Imagine how u would have felt if u heard that answer!!!! and YES...u cant ? that call especially after we took a MUCH BIGGER risk with the onsides kick.

well said will.........u constantly have intelligent posts. this site is clearly for the intelligent =) all of u back the call on 4th down, one of u even spelled it out that we dont live in a vacuum...that if we went up 17-14 that means the game would have been tied at the end! (all of us should email nbc to have dan dier-idiot permantly banned from all nfl broadcasts). i thought pass int call on miller was questionable as well. D rob was active, but overall we gotta stuff the run better. miller cant cover anyone though....2nd to last play for IND miller lets reciever drive him into end zone, curls back at the one for the catch...poor technique that i expect mangini to correct rt away. tough one next week then 2 home games vs mia and det....we now KNOW we can play with anyone...and the confidence will continue to grow.

We got beaten by Peyton Manning. A guy who has re-written the record book as a QB, is a certain Hall-of-Famer and an historically great regular season QB. His team was almost undefeated last season and now is 4-0. But, our little gang green almost slayed the giant. I loved Mangini going for it. I was at the game and I heard no second-guessing. And, let's face it Chad screwed that up. If he just throws it away, we give the Colts back the ball on the 2, not the 20. And, we held the Colts on that drive. I guess I'll hear more criticism about Dwayne Robertson, who played a great game. Remember why the Colts had to kick a field goal? D. Rob absolutely stuffed Rhodes at the goal line. And, he had consistently good pressure on Manning. Nobody mentioned the horrible pass interference call on Miller? That play was right in front of our row, and that's also why some more lubricated members of my section stayed after the game to give the ref the "a-hole" chant. I don't believe in moral victories, but I'm starting to really like this team. Now, let's go down to Jacksonville and get to 3-2.

I think that sums it up - they are a heck of a lot more fun to watch this year. Every game has gone down to the end, it doesn't get much more exciting than that. Too bad we've only pulled out 2 of them so far.

So close. I expected to get blown out, so I was very pleasantly surprised.

On the good side - the offense moved the ball well and we finally got a running game going. The special teams were great with the onsides kick and Miller's TD. And I loved Mangini being aggressive. I thought 2.5 yards was a bit far to go for it on the fourth down play, but give him credit for going for the W.

On the down side, the defense just didn't get it done. Aside from Ellis' sacks, there wasn't much of a pass rush. And Nugent has to improve his kickoffs. I give him credit for a perfect onside kick, but he can't keep kicking it to only the 10 or 15. Was I the only one thinking they should've done another onside kick after Miller's TD?

When Indy went up 24-21, this was the first time in a long time I felt confident we were going to come back. We did, but unfortunately we scored way too quickly. I knew Indy was going to come back, I was just hoping they'd score quickly so we'd have another shot. Then we botched the kickoff and it was over.

Before Mangini went for the touchdown on 4th and two, what ran through my mind was "I'll kick the field goal and take the boo's from the crowd". Having said that I don't fault him for taking the chance, Parcell's would have gone for it, Herm wouldn't have. I don't hear anybody saying anything about the gamble that went their way with the on-side kick in the second quarter. I wouldn't have done that either because I'd be too afraid to let the Colts have the ball at mid field. Football is a game of chance, the Jet's are more fun to watch this year than whey were last year. I loved the last play of the game, they never give up. I'm starting to warm up to Mangini now I was a proponent of him at first

Well they proved me wrong since I said they'd lose by more. Again it was a close game. I thought Mangini's thinking with the goal-line attempt was Indy would be scoring TDs not FGs and he would get few opportunites from so close. I would have kicked it. Most coaches like to have points, for the reason that if you lose by 3 you feel like an idiot, but yes there is no certainty the game would have ended the same. This isn't Madden it's the NFL; take points when you can. I suppose the other scenario, which didn't arise, was Indy getting the ball on the 1. Of course they got it at the 20. Double kick in the ass (I'm not advocating cruelty to animals either).

The defense lost on the ground but had a late stop when they were still in the game and forced a FG (D Rob had a nice tackle in the backfield).

Jets had a rushing game today but it just wasn't enough. Barlow ran well, not big yardage, but tough yardage.

The Jets kept the ball out of Manning's hands pretty well. They almost won by following the game plan.

I like this team even in a loss. Playing with the big boys and pulling out all stops. Exciting game. Jets can score (in case nobody noticed - which is something prior teams weren't proficient at) all they have to do is prevent TDs.
