Unfortunately, Pellman is still on the panel. He only resigned his chairmanship. The NY Times story captures well his ethically-challenged penchant for fabrication.

"The false statements included a claim to have a medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, when he actually attended medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico..."

He strikes me as a smile and a shoeshine sports groupie, probably a hale fellow well met, but the last person in the world you would want evaluating your brain.

I really can't understand why the Jets continue have him on their staff, particularly after he allowed Herm to run Curtis to death on a bum knee.

Pellman stepping down is in line with the Jets media control philososphy. Rightly or wrongly (I believe the former), he brought plenty of unwanted media attention to the organization. Made the team look inept in hiring a team doc with questionable qualifications, which was compounde by the infamous Toon and Chrebet situations.
