Buzz: Jets Worked Out JMU DT Corey Davis
A player from my alma mater, James Madision (2004 Div I-AA Champs, whoo!!) Defensive Tackle Corey Davis has worked out for the Jets, Rams and Dolphins, but also for bunch of other teams. For a little more information about his career, see here on Rookiepedia.
Davis worked out for nine NFL scouts … during JMU’s pro day last Thursday. But the 6-foot-3, 323-pound Hampton native strained his left hamstring while running a 40-yard dash and was somewhat limited the rest of the day, though he did do a pair of agility drills and some one-on-one work with fellow senior Mike Parham.
Davis already had an individual workout with the Jets.
Considered to be a late rounder or, more likely undrafted, I have to admit, I would love it if a JMUer went on to play for the Jets!

I was told recently that JMU has the highest STD rate in the country.
I don’t really care where they came from as long as that can play the way they are supposed to play in the position they are asked to play and that they won’t be a distraction off the field or on the field.
Oh, and in case you missed it, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports wrote an article about how the players complain too much about the Franchise Tag and he includes some quotes from our old friend John Abraham about how bad the franchise tag was for him. All I have to say is “Boo Hoo!” I’d love to have the money he made that year and the contract that followed. Here’s the link:

Corey Davis is amazing!!! He is the sweetest person off the field but man can he turn it up on the field! I’ve known Corey since he played for Kecoughtan High School and he is definitely going places in this sport! Keep an eye out for him!!
ps. JMU does NOT have the highest STD rate, that is a made up statistic.
