Film Room: Profile of a Warrior
Posted on May 2nd, 2007 by Bassett
Samoan warrior hair, warband tatoos … leading the team in warrior chants, ceremonial fire-knife dances, wearing jersey’s inside out as a reminder where he came from … is this kid for real? IF he can stay healthy, he could be a very nice pickup, and potentially a very sweet complement to the secondary. If you want to know why Mangini promised they wouldn’t draft a Safety in the last round, watch this video, and you’ll see why.

All I have to say is that if this guy could stay healthy he could be the jewel of the undrafted free agent class. I’m sure all the injury concerns is why he wasn’t drafted, but he looks like a beast. Wouldn’t you guys love to see this kid Peters coming across the middle and leveling Randy Moss to open the season.
He’d sure add some excitement. Just watching the highlights, though, it’s pretty clear he needs to get himself under control. Some of those hits would draw fines in the NFL and they’re leading him to injuries, too. If they can coach him up, I’d love to see him make the team, hair and all.
Does he go wild boar hunting too?
ROTF TFP …
Yes, with a fire-knife and then he cooks it in one of those sand-oven-beach-things and does that dance while he is waiting for it to cook.
I’m really starting to like this kid. He’s already repping the Jets on his website…….

He was projected for the 2nd day in the draft so he’s a free draft pick…kinda.
If he can stay on the field and avoid injuries, Peters will be a great pickup for us. And he can hit!! No arm tackles here.
Man you just gotta love this kids attitude, his devotion to the game and his heritage. Reminds me of Troy Palamalou, same intensity, and he can really knock you senseless. As was mentioned earlier he needs coaching on how to hit legally, there are some of his hits that would draw fines, but with coaching he can overcome those flaws. Has anyone noticed that he wears the number of one of the greatest safeties/corners of all time? Ronnie Lott. Jets have got to keep this kid and school him, he is a future pro bowler and you can bet Belichik and others wish they had gotten the jump on him like Mangini did.
