News: Jesse Allan Hangs On
Looks like tryout Jesse Allan will be hanging on with the team for a while, check Gross’ blurb (very bottom) in the Journal News article about the rookies.
The Jets have decided to sign Virginia Tech fullback Jesse Allen, who attended the rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis.
For those of you Stacey Tutt fans (like me) out there, don’t fret too much, Tutt serves a more versatile role than the traditional “thumper” that Allen or Barnes might for the Jets in 2007.
I dont think the Jets are looking for versatile but Allen showed versitile in the Shrine game with great hands. Im thinking with the addition of Thomas Jones they need and want a fullback capable of being a “thumper”. Maybe Tutt and Allen be a good combination. Allen may have more value at Spec Teams too, a fullback that can block is a shoe in on fieldgoal,punt and kick off teams…..just my thoughts.
