I think the two are quite different, but the treatment required depends how advanced it is.

Correct me if I’m wrong, I’m not a doctor, but isn’t Non Hodgkins Lymphoma similar to what Mario Lemieux had? I know Lemieux had Hodgkins lymphoma, but I am under the impression the treatments for both are similar. If that’s the case, I can’t see Andruzzi playing much this year anywhere, let alone to sign with the Jets.

Maybe weight will be an issue early in his career but weight is gained as we age so I don’t think it will matter in the end.

I am concerned about Bricks weight. Not too many top flight tackles playing under 300.

Also very interested to learn if DRob or Vilma have bulked up any.

ESPN’s Len Pasquarelli even commented in his tip sheet about D’Brick…

“New York Jets officials are still concerned about the inability of offensive tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson to retain weight. The fourth overall choice in the 2006 draft (and a 16-game starter as a rookie) finished last season in the low 290s, and is struggling again to get his weight above 300 pounds.”

Brick should’ve have put on 10-15 lbs of muscle weight, especially in his lower body. If he hasn’t, I’m questioning his off-season work habits.

He was 315 at the combine but not probably nowhere close to that by the end of the year (he had been reportedly as low as 292 in his Senior year). I feel this will be a constant issue, but am more concerned over his development technically, because as a pass protecter, his long arms somewhat negate the need for substantial bulk.

I expect he will be able to add weight, but keeping it on during the season may be challenging, as it seemed to be last year.
