Sounds like Mangini was taking the squad to boot camp or something, I wonder if Pete Kendall attended this team building excercise, somehow I doubt it.

I love Bob Bullock, the man definitely tells it like it is and doesn’t hold any of his feelings back. Talk about keeping it real.

I love how Cimini is convinced that the Jets will be worse off without Kendall. His replacement is bigger, stronger and younger. PK’s best attribute is his intelligence, but I never thought there was any one OL skill that PK has that separates him from an average NFL guard. In fact, there are some skills he doesn’t have. For instance, he’s not a great drive blocker and his lack of size and strength makes him susceptible to bull rushers. He was a great mentor for Brick and Nick, but maybe the team will be better off with a better interior run-blocker.

FWIW, great post directly to Cimini diatribe (with apologies to Joe P — but it really should be repeated here):

“Am I the only one that thinks you are a parasite, Mr. Cimini?

Why are you a beat writer for the Jets in NY? You would be better off writing about the Jets in Miami or Boston. I wish Eric Mangini would treat you at a press conference like Bill Belichick treats reporters at his press conferences.

Every chance you get you put a negative spin on the Jets organization.

    Look at what you write:

“Make no mistake, if the Jets thought Kendall was worth it, they’d re-negotiate his contract in a New York minute.”

obviously they don’t think he’s worth a pay raise.

    and then:

“If management can force a player to re-negotiate, the player should be able to use whatever means he can to get a better deal.”

who said otherwise. in fact that’s what kendall did.

why are you trying to make it out that the Jets are the bad guys for not giving him a better deal. you go on with references to the current landscape of the NFL and trying to tie in mangini with belichick’s deicision to leave the Jets.

Again you said yourself the Jets obviously don’t think kendall’s worth a bigger contract so why bring up these concocted and meaningless points.

and then you conclude (like you have some kind of axe to grind:

“the Jets will release Kendall, privately whispering to people that Clarke is an upgrade over the aging vet… “But I know this: There’s no way they’ll be better off without him.”

You are a venemous snake Mr. Cimini. If you disagree with the Jet’s organization not to pay Kendall more money then just simply say so.

Just simply say that even though I don’t have all the intimate details of the Kendall situation that the Jet’s organization does, I still think my opinion is as valid as there’s when it comes to spending their money and they should pay him more and not release him.

I can only hope that the NY Daily News will opt to release you and you will get picked up by one of the Miami papers….

Hopefully the jets will learn from this bonehead move. The jets will no doubt be worse off.

What ever happened to putting the best players on the field that give you the best chance to win?

That is the bottom line, not all the soap opera BS.

Whoever thinks with PK gone, that the jets o-line will not be set back big time is in for a big surprise.”
