Bullock’s post is as spot-on correct as anything i’ve read. Exactly how I feel but better stated than I could have. Good for him.

I have nothing against Tim Dwight but I hope he does not make the team this year.
He is not the punt returner he was. I would love the young-uns to show up big so instead of TD, we take a Chansi and risk getting Stuckie with Wallace.

I think the real nugget in this post is about Fred Evans. How come every single week we are seeing another article about an NFL player getting arrested, tasered, throwing drunken parties on a yacht, or killing their girlfriends?
If you are in the NFL, and in the public eye, it seems reasonable that a part of your job should be not getting into trouble. There are many jobs like this in the ‘civilian’ sector, where you can’t go get charged with crimes and expect to keep your jobs. Jobs that pay far less than the lowest paid player in the NFL.
A guy like this, if proven guilty should be tossed out of the league. I would personally rather see 100 mediocre players give 100% in and out of the team, than 100 superstars who are constantly in trouble with the law. You make a million bucks a year or more, it’s more than some people will make in a lifetime, so you should be held to a higher standard for that million. Not just that you are good at running and catching the ball.
And yes they might get hurt. That’s such a lame excuse. I know a guy who got his hand sawed off in a mill press. His career was over at 28. Now he can’t do anything but live off the government. His salary? $30,000 a year.
All I have to say Taser-Boy is, “Cry me a million”.

Sorry boys, but I have to disagree with the Bullock article. It seems that when it comes to sports, everybody always wants to drop the classic “he should be happy with his $xx Million dollars because the rest live off a lot less” argument. This is flawed thinking because the pay should be commensurate with what ownership makes off the back of labor. This “you should be happy to have a job” argument is the same that has plagued organized labor for years: the Man owns us, so sit down, shut up, and suck it up like the rest of us are doing. Well I think more of us SHOULD be doing what Kendall is doing: fighting for his rights as a worker. We’re ignoring the fact that if Brick and Mangold become the stars we all hope they’ll become, Kendall helped that process out. Plus his blocking helps keep our fragile (albeit heroic) Pennington in the game. Add in the fact that chances are Kendall will retire with injuries that will plague him for the rest of his life and Upshaw will later deny his claims and say “he didn’t vote me in office.” I’m bummed more of us “regular” types aren’t picketing on Kendall’s behalf. As an offensive lineman, Kendall is more like us than any quarterback, and he has the “temerity” to stand up for himself. As a Jets fan, I’m bummed at the distraction of what promises to be an exciting, but as a schmoe who sits in a cube I’m even more bummed that we’re all so quick to turn our backs on a fellow grunt. I hope he gets all the money he wants.

Ack, ridiculous. Your fellow grunt was paid $5.3 Million last year. He has absolutely nothing in common with most of us.
And as C. Jet states, many lesser paid workers are hurt a hell of a lot more seriously on the job, including our true heroes in the military.
Think Kendall joined the team on the joint excercise with the soldiers the other day? Doubt it, or he would be too embarrassed to complain in public the next day.

Good post by Bullock on PK, summarizes it perfectly.
They should trade him for a bag of beans to whatever city is the last place on earth he wants to play.
Hope Dwight is healthy enough to contribute and earn his tenth season, but I think he will have a hard time making this team.
