Peter King noted another interesting twist in the Jets in his Monday morning column on SI.com – Patriots feud tangled into the taping incident.
Ever hear of Steve Scarnecchia? He’s the New York Jets director of video operations. Two interesting points on his resume: He’s a former video man for the Patriots. He is also the son of New England assistant head coach Dante Scarnecchia, Belichick’s right-hand man. And you wonder why we think the Jets might have some blood on their hands.
That could make Thanksgiving Dinner rather awkward this year in the Scarnecchia household …

Festivus should be fun at the Scarnecchia home during the airing of grievances!

Anyone catch this:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/09/17/billick.ap/index.html?eref=si_nfl
Billick is now accusing the Jets of cheating by simulating the snap count and drawing his offensive linemen into illegal procedure penalties.

Festivus! Brilliant!

I’m glad that Jets fans can now stop crying considering Mangina is just as dirty. The Jets cheat its plain and simple. All teams cheat. Whats the difference between making fake snap count calls and taping? Both were to gain a competetive advantage.

“Whats the difference between making fake snap count calls and taping?”
Uh, one is punishable by the biggest fine and draft-pick loss in football history, while the other results in an on-field penalty, like an offsides or faking a roughing. So yeah, there’s a wee bit of difference.

Bassett,
you know how we decided that “-Gate” has jumped the shark? I nominate the “Thanksgiving Dinner” metaphor as well. Why can’t it be Easter Brunch? Or Christmas Night? Or like a birthday dinner? I feel like too many family occasions are being ignored.
