Buzz: Miller out for Season?
Backup corner and Pro-Bowl Kick Returner Justin Miller could be out for the rest of the season after hurting his knee in the loss on Sunday to the Ravens.
Miller, who hurt his right knee in Sunday’s 20-13 loss to the Ravens, had an MRI exam and “it doesn’t look good,” said a personal with knowledge of the situation. The full extent of the injury will be known today, the person said.
I smell a Mangini sanctioned fine for Justin and his agent …
This isn’t good news for the return game, and special teams as a whole, which has struggled this year already. This also leaves one less body in the secondary, look to see if the Jets try and pick up a free agent in the coming days.

The only thing I can say that is positive is that since training camp, he has not contributed much. we have depth at corner, but I thin Barrett is on a short leash.
The return team isn’t hurt as bad as it may seem. Revis could fill in or Wright or Washington, or even Smith. Or we could call back Dwight.
Don’t kid yourself, this hurts. Hope Revis is ready because he now the man.
I thought we had depth at CB , but with Miller gone, Dyson’s status uncertain, and Barrett stinking up the joint we could be seeing Poteat, Coleman and Collins on the field way too much.
And Miller WAS the pro bowl kick returner last year, he was a threat to score every time he touched the ball. He forced teams to game plan away from him.
The other guys may be ok but are unproven.

Wait! The news about Miller being out for the season didn’t come from Chris Mortenson, did it? Just checking!
I would like to see Manny Collins signed from the pratice squad and at least given a look. I’m not too interested in seeing retreads from the past at CB. We all know the names that Belichick and Mangini have used in the past, Poteat being the most frequent stop-gap. Is Troy Brown is available? (jk)
I really like the kid Poteat. Wish they would put him in the mix more. Maybe this is his opportunity.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a little more of Drew Coleman. He looked like he might turn out to be a decent nickel back — seemed to have a nose for the ball and making plays.
Everyone remembers him from getting torched last year in the Bears game, but he looked decent in preseason. I’d be curious if he has anything to offer.
Can Rashad Washington play nickel? This blows…
Look, Mangini can do alot. Maybe keep Smith at safety and put Coleman at corner? ONLY in an emergency.
