Daily Links: Jets Need This One
Posted on October 7th, 2007 by Bassett
I’m live bloggging the game today, so please check out the blog as you watch the game.
- Pelzman writes the Jets have been tight lipped on their desire to win, and also notes five things to take note of for the game.
- Gross and I have the same gut feeling.
- Cimini predicts a close one today, but advantage to the Jets.
- Good story on Darian Barnes in the Journal News.
- Scout has an article on Brandon Jacobs.
- Will Osi Umenyora play today? Sounds like Pennington might be questionable too.
- Michael Salfino writes about the numbers of the Jets-Giants game for SNY.
- Here’s an interesting back & forth about Jets-Giants on Daily News Live. Cimini does a good job, but I love how some guys on the panel just way oversimplify some of the Jets problems.
- Michael Strahan, what a class act. In his book due out this week, he says his ex-wife is a gold-digger. Even if she is … you picked her, jackass.

If Barners truly was benched for opening his mouth, then I have lost all respect for this coaching staff. Another case of putting the program ahead of winning the damn game.
Disicpline is fine, but compromising your chance to win a game to make a point to the team will eventually have the exact opposite effect.
Lets see, we can not run the damn ball, could it perhaps be in part because the big pure blocking full back brought in to replace the solid Askew has been riding the pine in favor of a no name converted tight end who better represents “the program” by keeping his big trap shut?
