Read this in an article this morning. Kind of gives you perspective on the league we’re supporting.
“Tank Johnson: back making an impact for a Super Bowl contender. Ricky Williams: still in exile, with no end in sight. Conclusion: Guns over ganja. This is the NFL in ‘07. Pathetic!”
Well, the Jets are pathetic too. They have something in common with the league’s governing body. You think maybe they’ll give the Jets an extra first-rounder?
I realize that Randy has to toe the company line. But he does not have to stoop to fabricating excuses for Nuge. This guy cost us a #2 pick. He has already cost us a couple of games this year.
I cannot believe we let O’Brien go for this loser and wasted a #2 to boot.

Everyone moaned that Nuge not reaching the endzone was such a big problem, but the first kick he put deep was run for a score and we haven’t sniffed .500 since.
Meanwhile, I doubt that it is a coincidence that his accuracy has suffered. Personally I was happy with the reliable kicker we had last year who floated the ball down to the ten yard line.
Yeah, it was a daft pick, but if he kicks like he did last year, I’m happy. Ben Graham has never really been any better than average, but we launches a bomb every once in a while. Sadly, he seems to shank a 20 yarder at key times on occasion too. And we never got anything out of the ordinary from him as hoped (remember he was tipped to be a WR for Hail Marys?) and also we were told to expect numerous muffs, which has never happened.
Slightly off topic, but related to the new TJB Poll question: My real answer to the question was Kellen Clemens’ development, but after seeing the undefeated Pats on the list, I couldn’t resist. Since I live in New England, I’d love it if the Jets were the ones to break up the undefeated season. I’d have at least one bright spot in an otherwise very dreary season for me up here. The Pats fans I know up here are extremely arrogant and think they are entitled to win & don’t have to play the games. It’d be nice to just have that one chip in my favor. At the same time I am sick of the ‘72 Dolphins and their champagne glasses.
Well some Pats fans think (due to their warped interpretation of “karma”), that they’re going to run up the score and win by 70 or 80. Of course no team other than the Pats (by 20 in a game which included a fluke 108 yard TD and an “eff you” TD in the closing moments) have beaten us by more than 11, so that would be really something.
To win (esp. if the Pats are still unbeaten) would be more satisfying than any game I could imagine other than a playoff decider or post season game, but you have to realistically put our chances somewhere around the level of me scoring a date with a flight crew member.
I think this is setting up perfectly for the Jets to get a big lead, nearly win and then crush us fans by blowing it somehow.
I agree with you Bent, but I can dream can’t I? Maybe I should be more realistic, after all I’m a Jets fan…
