News: Jets Sign Former Pats DL Kareem Brown

by Bassett on November 29th, 2007 at 9:14 am

So remember when I just wrote keep an eye on that last roster spot in the post below? Well, I’m getting ready for work and listening to the radio, and they noted that the Jets had signed DL Kareem Brown (6’5″ 315 lbs.), who was recently waived by the Pats to make room for another Brown named Troy.

With the Patriots on the schedule in the near future and a “if it’s good enough for the Pats it’s good enough for us” mantra regarding players, the Jets signed Kareem Brown, a player that according to Reiss’ Pieces the Ravens and 49ers also put claims on, but since the Jets had the worst record, it pays to stink out loud.

Check out his Rookiepedia profile here. He’s a guy who the Jets might try to coach up, as he has some abilities, but lacks in other areas, specifically speed and his motor.

Can’t hurt to have someone new on the team who might have some inside dish on the Pats.

At least two other teams seemed to think he was worth something. Usually the Jets roster moves are to pick up players even the 49rs wouldn’t want.

In the past that was probably the case, but I really like a lot of the guys they have brought in as sleepers. Maybe none of them will amount to much, but when you’re 2-9 it does you no harm to find out.

Plus, as scott says, we can get the latest scoop on the Pats from KB.

I liked him coming out of college. I imagine he’ll stick on the roster.

You can’t coach size and he’s huge. A nice signing.
