No updates lately, sorry bout that, I awesome burned my hand yesterday making breakfast … I’m a genius, I know. Short post here today.

Strategic Thoughts — This is a game you don’t want to see the Jets lose, even if it means endangering their “precious” high pick. Just like the Jets, the Dolphins are going to want to make their young QB beat them. This should be a great test for young QBs.

  1. Looks like a cut and paste error above. “Jets at Cowboys”? I hope not again! That was brutal!

  2. they are the miami dolphins, miami dolphins suck!

  3. I can’t even remember the last time the Jets lost to the Dolphins. The Jets have owned them recently.

  4. A win is a win is a win — and I don’t care if it’s against a winless Miami squad, I’ll happily take it!

Thought the defense played big today — of course, it was against a team that hasn’t scored an offensive TD in a few games, but hey, considering they made guys like Kenny Watson and Trent Edwards look like all-pros, it was good they showed up.

I like that they’re really mixing in and moving around guys on the defense — saw Mosley knock one loose, Drew Coleman had a pick and we even had a Bryan Thomas sighting! Of course, it begs the question where was this a few months ago . …

On the offense, a little of the same thing — they mixed in Chris Davis, Wallace Wright and we even had a Justin McCareins sighting (and catch!). A lot of mixing up of plays — I don’t mind the shovel pass, just don’t go to it too much. Ditto Brad Smith lining up under center down by the goal line. Once a game is okay, but unless he’s going to throw it, let’s not overdo it.

They also made good use of Leon today — about time. The guy can take it to the house on any given play, have to get him involved.

Thought Clemens played okay — made some nice 3rd down conversions and avoided the big mistakes. Managed the game well, which against a bad team, is what you want him to do. No reason for him to have to throw it more than he did.

Curious to see what he can do against Cleveland next week — he’s probably going to have to throw it more to keep up with them.

  5. Watching that game, is that what it feels like to be a Pats fan this year? It is so… soothing.

  6. Now, we know that the Jets aren’t the worst team in the NFL. When the Jets win and they do things that we’ve all been blogging about, I have the feeling that a few tweaks and the Jets would be chasing the last playoff spot. We’ve all been saying more Leon, and look what he did with more looks. More Brad Smith in the type of plays that he can succeed in, more rollouts and play action for KC. On defense, David Harris looks like pre-hip injury Marvin Jones…he’s a one-man wrecking crew…too bad it took Vilma’s injury to make him a starter…why? He should’ve been starting since the 2nd or 3rd game of the season. And, the big one, Chad should’ve been benched after the Giants game.

One nit-pick on KC…he holds on to the ball too long. He’s not big enough to take the pounding of 4-5 sacks per game…I counted 3 as coverage sacks. It won’t help his QB rating, but he should just throw the ball away if he doesn’t have a man open. Overall, I was pleased with his play. Next up he has an awful Browns defense and he plays against his old high school rival, Derek Anderson. I’d love to see the Browns go down next Sunday!

  7. I was really crying when the Browns lost their game today on a play that should’ve been ruled a force-out…NOT!

  8. TJ finall finds the end zone week 13….. owch. I was so high on this off season aquisition. I never thought he would have gone almost a whole season in carries before finding the promised land.

I think if they just upgrade at LG and RT in FA/Draft, the O-Line would work wonders for the running game and the offense as a whole.

The D has played well over the last 3 weeks or so, but I still like the idea of drafting a stud DE like Long or Dorsey with the top pick. Also another solid CB to pair with Revis is a must.

  9. KC seemed to learn from his mistakes as the game went on. A unheralded play was the one where he rolled out, avoided a hit, and threw it away legally. Don’t remember the specifics, but I do remember myself thinking that it was a great mid-game adjustment.

I know what the Outsiders say about playing time for a young QB and the impact it has on the following season, but I still think he’ll be better to have struggled down the stretch this season than to have ridden the pine.
