AlterJets for Pro-Bowl

I don’t know how to exactly sum up my philosophy on the Pro Bowl, but my thoughts are that it’s basically a popularity contest … so having Jets players not go doesn’t really mean a lot to me. That being said, would I prefer for my favorite team to get some national recognition for their play? Definitely.

Knowing that, the Jets were told that three of their players are being considered as alternates for the Pro-Bowl. Leon Washington is the first alternate for Kick Returner to Josh Cribbs, Kerry Rhodes fell in line behind Ed Reed and Bob Sanders, while Nick Mangold was named third alternate behind the Colts’ Jeff Saturday and Patriot Dan Koppen.

It would be great for one or all of these guys to get the chance to go to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl, but I’m not holding my breath.

  1. It is nice for the player to make a Pro Bowl, but I cannot think of any Jet who is deserving this year.

  2. Leon Washington should have made it. The only reason he didnt was because the Browns allow everyone to score and the AFC North has horrible special teams.

  3. Mangold will make the ProBowl as an alternate since one of those two players, one from the Colts and Pats will not go. Shall we say hello to perennial Pro Bowler Nick Mangold. I pray for Kerry Rhodes to make it. Come on, he has better stats than Reed, maybe because of a crappier but nevertheless the ravens still suck
