Pennington Speaks on Future

by Bassett on December 22nd, 2007 at 12:04 pm

Pennington spoke to the press a few days ago about what the future holds for him regarding playing in New York.

“I can sit here and give you a ‘rah-rah’ speech about how I want to be a Jet, but I don’t have the ultimate decision.  I may have influence on it, but I can’t control it. … I’ll say this: I’ve extremely enjoyed my time in New York. I feel really good about how far I’ve come, the obstacles I’ve overcome and how I play the game.”

“What you have to do is separate yourself from those emotions and look at the organization’s point of view, understand your point of view and then make a decision on whether you agree or disagree.  It’s not about being scarred or feeling like you were treated wrongly. It’s about whether or not you agree or disagree with the direction the organization wants to go.”

Any time an answer begins with “I can sit here” pretty much tells you the emotional state of the person speaking.
