These recent signings seem like yet more of the “Let’s throw enough sh_t against the wall. If we throw enough, we won’t have to sand or paint.”

The problem is the smell. The stench comes from the non drafted personnel on our team, apparently the drek obtained using this same approach.

We need to see serious upgrades in the front 12 this off season. Guys who are young (so they will still be around when we get good unlike TJ), talented, and can either run and pass block; or seal, tackle and pass rush.

Here’s what I wrote about DB before the 2006 draft…

“Bing’s early entry breaks up the most onomatopoeic defensive backfield in NCAA history. USC’s percussionary defensive back unit last year featured Bing, Ting, Ting and Cushing. There you go – where would you ever find a drum sting actually contained within a joke? (not to mention where else would you find a draft article with the word “onomatopoeic” in it?) Finally, with a name like Bing, you have to ask the question, could he *be* any more effective in run
support?”

Still my favourite (sic) joke I’ve ever written on here (even if Bassett still doesn’t get it).

As for Bing…I felt his chance had been and gone. We’ll see.
