Daily Links: Shaking Things Up

  1. Is anyone else cringing at the possible nightmare a Pats/Giants Super Bowl might entail?

  2. *raises hand sheepishly*

Bibgy was awesome on Saturday. And Eric Weddle had a great game on Sunday.

I can’t believe I have to root for Phil Rivers now…what a jerk that guy is.

  3. Peter King needs to get a life. I find his writing to be the fluff that chicks are made of. Maybe he should move to Green Bay and propose to Favre as his man-slave. Yes he’s entertaining but enough already.

I’m sure much will be made of this Sunday as a true AFL championship as in the days of yore before the merger. A rematch of 1963 in which the SD Chargers slaughtered the then-Boston Patriots 52-10. Unfortunately I don’t see that happening again, but if this weekend shows anything, it’s ANYTHING can happen.

I actually was happy for Eli although his magic carpet ride will be pulled from under him at Lambeau Field. I think in the end, it will be a rematch of SuperBowl 31: Green Bay vs New England.

  4. I was laughing this weekend when I heard a few announcers talking about “the Packers squaring off against their former mentor.”

The only current Packers who Holmgren coached are Favre and Rob Davis, the long snapper! They’re the 2nd youngest team in the NFL and Holmgren last coached there nearly a decade ago — pay attention, people!

  5. If PK thinks the Bolts had to play against the Refs yesterday, just wait until this week. Pk actually had the nerver to write “the Refs swallowed the whistle on one of Brady’s incompletion.” The officiating was terrible in Foxboro – not that it mattered – Jax had no chance to win because they played “not to lose.” I guess PK missed the blatant hodling that occured on the terrible roughing call on Brady and then the double blatant holding call by Welker & Moss on next play.

The Refs should send a message to the League by tossing Harrison after his first of 16 dirty plays.

  6. Who would have thought at the start of the season that at this point the Giants would be a game away from the SuperBowl! As a Jet fan I am envious of their Classy organization! They did not look for boy scouts, they did not release or punish their loud mouth veteran players, they did not need to blow out their team in order to rebuild. I hope that the Jets FO would look to imitate the Giants organization and not the Belicheats. I am still not convinced that the PATS are the MODEL, I think that the PATS got lucky with Brady and now they receive the credit as a model organization.

By the way, I do not know if it is just me but has anyone noticed the HGH Pats players? Junior Seau, Harisson and Vebrel look like they are stuffed with HGH as it is Dallas RB Barber. Does anyone know if players are teasted for HGH and when?

  7. I can’t believe how passive the Jags played on defense Saturday night. Give Brady, with those receivers, that much time of course he’s going to go 26 for 28. Scott Zolak could’ve gone 23 for 28. You’ve got to come with pressure in order to make a quarterback uncomfortable in the pocket. You don’t have to knock him down on every pass play but you got to make it where he’s thinking about it and starts to get happy feet back there.

  8. Harrison has already got caught with HGH.

  9. Speaking of Dallas drama –

I think one of the strategies the Jets need to employ for next year is to see how they can get Tom Brady to dump Gisele Bundchen and start dating Jessica Simpson. I think we need to use droseatwork’s vast social connections and resources to make this happen.

    [*rubs hands together*] Mwuh-huh-huh . . ..

  10. Woody should take a long look at the Giants. Sometimes, the Giants suck, but by maintaining a good defense and running game, they usually manage to contend in their division. Since 1987, the Giants have been in 3 Superbowls…winning 2 of them. Now they are on the doorstep once again (although the Packers are going to anihilate them this weekend).

Can anyone reading this blog even imagine the Jets playing to get into the Superbowl? I vaguely remember a 2nd half with Multiple turnovers against Denver, but that was a decade ago.

I’m pretty bummed out right now.
