At Stake: The fate of the free world, good vs. evil, you get the idea.

When the Pats Have the Ball: Everyone is expecting the Patriots to come out and throw the ball all game, now that they are out of the elements and back in a climate neutral environment. I would expect that the Patriots will run plays to counter Giants DC Steve Spags blitz-happy defense … plays like screens, draw plays and the like to get the ball moving, once that’s established they’ll balance the game out.

When the Giants Have the Ball: Running the ball at the nose and getting Giants’ guards into the second level will be crucial for running plays. I would expect the Giants to attack the seams (and thus the safeties) in the passing game.

With some friends coming over to watch the game, I’ll be hovering around like “the mother hen of a party” as my buddy Jeff would say. Have fun and enjoy the game!!

  1. belecheat is a sore loser. the look on his face running onto to the field after that 4th down play was priceless.

    biggest choke job ever.

  2. even though the giants recovered, challenging a play to put a flag on the field is the worst idea ever. what’s next, reviewing holding calls?

  3. I’m still laughing. So, for everyone that keeps comparing Clemens to Manning, does this mean we’re winning the Super Bowl in 2 years?

  4. Couldn’t agree more about the penalty. Considering you can’t review force outs I thought that was crazy. Of course, watching Belichick walk off the field with time on the clock made it worth it. What a message to send to your team!

As a Boston-based Jets fan I have to say this was huge! I couldn’t have taken a Pats win. Now, no BS about best team ever, best dynasty ever, no need to worry about Boston holding 3 titles simultaneously (Celts and Sox), and best of all no damn parade!

  5. HA! They just said on the news “it looks like maybe the ankle was worse than the Patriots let on.”

  6. GIANTS WON THE SB! God how hard it is to mutter those words. The ridicule I faced at being a Jets fan today, I couldnt watch the game for 5min w/o someone telling me how terrible the NYJ are. I am about to hide in the closet for the next 8months, jesus!

  7. As a Jet fan Thank God for the NY Giants (ugh). I can take being teased by Giant fans but I could not take the “Perfect Team” with the Golden Boy *barf*. Mangini is probably grinning from ear to ear.

  8. Ding Dong the wicked witch of the AFC is dead! Tonight a Super Bowl lost, tomorrow investigation into the Spying allegations. Xmas comes late, but oh so sweet to this Jet fan!!!!!

  9. think the undefeated book is gonna be on sale now lol

  10. Are you pro-Giant guys nuts?? The WORST thing could have happened for Jets fans is that the Giants became SB Champions. We are relegated to the ugly NY sister once again; the AFC looks like crap; and they beat the guys who have been dominating us. Wait till you hear the Giants fans now — at least the Pats fans mostly live in Boston and their team is hated nationwide. The Giants are like folk heros!! UGH!!

  11. When have the Jets not been the ugly NY sister…them winning another super bowl doesn’t change that. The only thing better then this season from the Patriots would have been if they went 0-16. I would feel worse as a fan about coming within a couple of minutes of perfection with that team than about four wins with ours. I can’t wait for a new Bill Simmons article.

  12. The Giants D was amazing and gives me hope for what the Jets might someday be…both on D and O — goes to show that -any- QB who has no time in the pocket is going to be challenged. Lets get ourselves a good O-line and Clemens will be fine.
