The whole “i’m going to root for the NY team!” mentality is completely misguided. It’s such a tell-tale sign of a true non-fan. Giants fans are so obnoxious…giving them this win would make the next year of football unbearable. As much as I can’t stand the Patriot nation hooplah, I’ve gotten used to enduring their antics and at least a Patriot win can be tempered with spygate when it comes to bragging rights. I’m hoping for a 52-0 patriots rout this afternoon…the lesser of two evils that would knock out any leg a Giant fan has to stand on. Enjoy the game, all.

somewhat agree with dave….as we are all jet fans, this is a nitemare super bowl. I have gone back and forth on my rooting interests, and as dave says…a big negative to a giant win is hearing it from their smugg / obnoxious nation that they knocked off the undefeated pats. BUT the other side is the great burn it will be on that franchise and the new england region as a whole if they lose this game. I am a yankee fan, dont hate the mets as much as i used to b/c we have tons of rings, they have….2. people ask me if its mets red sox who i root for, in 86 it was the sox b/c i was 15 years old and hated the mets waaaay more. NOW, i would root for the mets…hate the sox, and it wouldnt kill me if the mets got a ring. With football….the jets are the 2nd citizens….the giants have the rings, so them winning one…in this way especially…would kill me!!!! and it aint like i gotta worry about pats fans getting in my face if they win…and yes dave…one bonus is that a pats win will still come with spygate taunts…which is quite fun =) so…in the end…if the giants win its cool…and if the pats win….so be it…they cheat and they are jerks…and represent a part of the country that makes us all sick…

This is not even a debate, but let me premise it with 1) I have not lived in NY for 16 years. 2) My Dad is a lifelong Giants fan (his best friend had 4 JETS seasons nd my Dad bought 2, we lived in Queens used to take subway to games, etc…)
My dream game is Brady going down, Giants mopping them up, and then a smiling Shula saying “hey, we went undefeated and our back-up QB played most of the year.”

I was reading on ESPN how if the Giants upset the Pats it will be an even bigger upset than the Jets beating the Colts in SB 3. All I know is that upset defines us as Jets fans and to have those smug Giants wipe our accomplishment under theirs is something I dont want to see Olus we share a stadium with these jerks. At least I can comfortably say that the Pats live in Foxborough. I dont want to be seen as a second class sports fan in NY especially in the current stadium and the new one. Go Pats I hope the Giants lose. Tell me how much fun it is working and having a bunch of jerks say how the Jets suck and how your rooting for the cursed franchise, etc. I’d rather root for our division rival then have our neighboring Giants praise that SB forever

First off, yes this is a horrible situation for us Jets fans, but it is what it is. I am from long island and go to school in Connecticut, i have lived with Pats AND Giants fans, and they are both just as obnoxious. But there is no crosstown rivalry with the G-Men, I’m pulling for the Giants, because well they are the lesser of the 2 evils. Either way us Jets fans are the butt of the jokes because we just went 4-12 and were an embarassment this season. We need to just walk with our heads held high and take whatever trash talk comes our way. And on another note, the Pats are not cheaters. That was blown so out of proportion it is absolutely ridiculous. Can we please get something else on these guys? They’re just better. That’s it. It’s that simple. They beat us because they’re better. They won their lats 18 games because they’re better. End of story, throw the whole spygate stuff out the window please. The team is just this damn good.

Jets fans, just wear your Jets jerseys and keep your heads held high. Our day will come soon enough, it has to right?
-
Pat’s are good, very good. But they cheated and it taints their 1st 3 rings. This season is a joke because the league allowed RANDY MOSS TO BE TRADED FOR A 4TH ROUND PICK.
-
TOON, you’re an idiot. You honestly thinkg watching tape of other teams doesn’t happen? Get real dude. Nothing is tainted and it’s ludcrious.
-
ALL you guys are NUTS! This could possibly be the BEST SUPERBOWL for the J-E-T-S. Not only is our division RIVAL in the game, but a team that we just agreed to share A STADIUM with (again). If THAT doesnt light a fire under the management/coaches to make the moves necessary to be a REAL contender in this league, then the seasons OVER ALREADY.
-
Matt – cut the juvenille name calling, I am entitled to my opinion, you are entitled to yours. Be mature, or post somewhere else. Why did League fine them and burn tapes?
-
Come on man, you can’t actually think that looking at other teams doesn’t happen. And you think all those superbowls are tainted? Get real. The Pats are just a great team and the class of the NFL. I hate them, but you cant deny what they are. Hopefully the G-Men keep it up and can pull off the upset

The Pats are great – no argument there. But class? no way.

I was going to send this article to you, Bassett. It needed to be said. One unfortunate comment in the article was one fan saying how “classless” the Patiots fans are. Sadly, Jets fans can’t even take the higher ground on “class” after the Gate D fiasco.
I’m really happy to put this whole season behind us. At least, 2007 was useful in developing Revis, KC, and Harris. Not a total loss, right?
