Im actually happy. Dewayne is a bum and wil be gone soon i hope. and coles wouldnt be able to go anyway because his head cant fit through the hempstead doorways. GOOD! Screw Coles if he doesnt want to be a part of this new team.

  2. avatar screwup79 says:

gettin rid of dwayne is a good thing, but gotta let up on coles, yeah hes a bum for not givin a crap, but hey still a good reciever with 2 yrs in his contract i believe, but the time thats up we will find another reciever to take his place, just let him play, plus best thing for the jets is to start kellen from the beginning, no qb controversy, bunch of crap, let him prove himself with these free agent signings

  3. avatar Ed L says:

i wouldnt be crying if i was makin wat 10 or 11 mil over 2 years?

and coles should be happy cuz he has clemens who wont hang him out to dry on those pop ups good ol chad used to throw….

i really think all coles animosity is stemming from the chad situation…. and not for nothing he was injury prone last season….

hey coles do yourself a favor shut up play hard and next year u will get your money

  4. avatar neil herschkowitz says:

Shame on you! LC played hurt and put his career in jeprody to help his team when it was garbage time and we were well out of playoff contention…what is that worth fools?. He is our best receiver, a team captain and a stud. We are paying fat guys 20 million in guarantees to play at positions they never played before.

LC held our team together in the locker room when we were in our death throws.

We lose him and we lose much more then whatever money he is looking for.

Chad named his son Coles for a reason.

Ed L…..we can fit your football IQ in a sewing thimble.

I’m a fan of this site and most of the discussion or varying points of view but if it’s allowed to degenerate into people simply calling one another “jackasses,” “stupid” and “dumb” I won’t stick around.

  7. avatar Bent says:

We won’t let that happen, subwayfare. Please stick around, you are a good poster.

Neil (and others), you are entitled to your opinion, but so is everybody else. If you are going to call someone an idiot when their opinion differs from you, then that’s not fair.

You say you are a longtime, loyal, Jets fan and that being the case, it is great to have your viewpoint, but Bassett has built a friendly forum here and I don’t find it fair that the site could lose readers because people are being ripped for their opinions.

Feel free to argue your point of view, but if the personal attacks continue, we reserve the right to block you from commenting, rather than potentially lose readers.

You have all been warned. Mwah ha ha…

  8. avatar badgermatt says:

voluntary is the key word here. voluntary workout means there is nothing to talk about until they miss a mandatory one….

how many days until the draft? why not spotlight the second round pick more???

  9. avatar Nikolas says:

Subwayfare…..I agree with your point but you cannot be selective.
Trashing Jets players like D-Rob and denegrate them is as offensive.

Bent…..those who live by the sword die by it as the saying goes.
If you trash the team’s players…. you may be trashed in return.
Let’s not make .. neil herschkowitz … the culprit because some fans associate with the players and when someone trashes them they take it personnaly… as I DO!!!.

  10. avatar Tim says:

I’m with you Bent and Bassett, it’s nice to post on a site that doesn’t seem like a bunch of kids bad mouthing each other. I don’t see anything in Ed L’s post that was “trashing” anyone. The retaliatory posts on the other hand were way over the top considering Ed simply suggested LC play for his contract.

That being said, I hope that things work out between LC and the Jets, he brings valuable leadership to the offense, and his heart really can’t be questioned.

  11. avatar rsmithline says:

Nikolas, I am with Tim, Bent, et al.

If you associate so closely with players that you take offense when some says they stink that is your prerogative. However, personal attacks on other posters are not the appropriate response.

This is the only jets site I visit for a reason.

And Neil…lighten up. You are supposed to enjoy the off season. We have a perfect record, we have made some (potentially) big acquisitions, and could be a whole new team next year. Now is the time to dream and hope for the best mate.

Even if we denigrate into a 1-15 team, calling other posters jackass and fool is not the way to vent your frustration.

  12. avatar jerry says:

Apccording to the Star-Ledger, the Jets and Coles are in negotiations for some sort of a compromise which would get him into camp later this week.

  13. avatar david i says:

Let’s get this on more of a positive track….This blog is a great outlet for JETS fans everywhere, all year round and extends the JETS fans experience!!!

For a number of us, this experience allows us to share out thoughts with other fans that have a common interest. If there are some that have a difference of opinion, we should all respectfully agree to disagree.

You guys (Brian/Bent) collectively do an awesome job, should be commended and I am confident that you will act appropriately to monitor to the site so the quality, integrity as well as freedom of speech remain intact.

  14. avatar Kyal says:

Neil-Yeah LC played hurt and did risk his career by playing in games this year, but how much of a leader is he that he is bitching about his contract after the team dished most of its cash out to free agents? He should be motivated to be a leader with his new and improved team and worry about the contract next year. Saying he is our best receiver is not saying much about our WRs, I would say he is one of the best #2 receivers in the league, but the Jets are unwilling to give him #1 money for his #2 talent level.

  15. avatar Bent says:

Nikolas, I admire the fact that you wish to stand up for our guys. I share a lot of your views. For example, I love Pennington, was sorry to see Vilma go, have defended Robertson more times that I care to remember. While I may disagree on Coles’ salary stance, he has been a great Jet and I would love to see him and the team on the same page.

Let’s hope nobody will have any reason to trash any of the new guys we just signed and then everyone can be happy.

  16. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

I bash players and argue with posters all the time. I also want this site to continue to be family friendly. I just hope that there is a line drawn where we remember that this is football. The sport that taught me the definition of the words bust and bum. The game that gave me my first beer and taught me words that got my mouth washed out with soap. It is our right to insult overpaid athletes, because they are all overpaid. We should not personally attack eachother because we are united under a common banner and because we post anonymously (so insulting people is incredibly lame and full of cowardice). Go Jets!

  17. avatar Ilan says:

    Neil, are you Coles’ agent?

  18. I agree with JAGG, insulting each other is silly and pointless. Whether or not someone loves or hates LC, insulting a TJB poster because of their opinion is inexcusable. Let’s keep it about football and not slide into petty name calling. I say there should be a 2 strikes and you’re out rule – 1st a warning and if you do it again, bye-bye (if not forever then for a set amount of time).

Personally, I’d like to see both LC and Drob stay jets – if they can redo both contracts as win-wins. Drob would give us loads of flexibility, just need to fix that 9000 lb. gorilla of a contract he’s dragging around.
