I don’t know it the Mock Draft links on Schefter’s article have been discussed but Pat Kirwan think the Jets will trade with the Raiders to get Gholston allowing Oakland to take McFadden at 6. I personally doubt that the Jets want to pay more for a guy they may get at 6 and I also think they will be happy topick at 6 and catch whatever falls to them. What about taking Derrick Harvey at 6? He played for a big school in a tough conference. I guess he’s a little slow but would anyone be upset to take him at 6? I think I’d be as happy with that as any pick.

So Prisco, Clemens’ inexperience is what hurts his grade, yet you want the Jets to draft a rookie QB to replace him? I don’t see the logic here. If KC is really that inexperienced after last season, I think we’d be in trouble either way, but I don’t think that was the problem. Our OL was. It was porous in both the passing and running games and without the running game, you become one dimensional on offense and it’s harder to hide your QB’s deficiencies. Teams were able to jump Pennington’s routes because of his weaker arm strength and they just rattled KC with odd defensinve schemes and disguised blitzes. Now that our OL is upgraded, those problems should iron themselves out a little.

The question for Clemens is does he have it or doesn’t he. If the Jets don’t think so, then draft a QB, but if he is, then we need to give him that “experience” and draft for depth.

RK, I’ve seen Harvey as high as 9, but consensus seems to be about 12-14. If Gholston’s still there at 6, I think I’d rather take him.

My point was that we have a lot of options. Some people on here argue that Gholston was invisible until this year and shouldn’t be going in top 10. And NE is “supposed” to be going after Cromatrie or McKelvin
I’ll be happy with whatever happens. McFargin, Ryan, Longs, Gholston, Ellis, Dorsey (who performed well yesterday). They are all crap shoots, maybe some more than others, but that depends on what you are trying to get out of them. They will all get money at that pick whoever is taken and whichever team is there.
At least the day is fast approaching. Not fast enough but still closer than yesterday.

4.05? That’s slow. Appy State DB Corey Lynch ran a 3.99 in the short shuttle.
