The NFL has released the overall draft order, and here are the Jets picks as it now stands, with compensatory picks (based on free agent comings and goings from 2007) already included, of which the Jets received none.
Round 1 — Overall Pick 6
Round 2 — Overall Pick 36
Round 4 — Overall Pick 102
Round 4 — Overall Pick 113 (via N.O.)
Round 6 — Overall Pick 171
Round 7 — Overall Pick 211
Having two picks in the top 40 is great, with that high second round pick very desirable to many teams, even just a few slots behind. To see who would likely be available at that important 36th pick, check our just updated Mock Draft Muncher.
Mike Sando of ESPN.com has a very nice sortable Excel File that he’s linked to on Hashmarks if you are really into this stuff like us!

I believe we get that pick in ’09 draft, and I think it may be a 4th rounder.
-
The singer from the Killers is going to be our new D-Back? Awesome.
-
Interesting stuff today on Mosely’s Hashmarks. Mangini said that Pace reminds him of Mo Lewis (let’s hope, I was a huge Mo fan) and Kiffin said that the Raiders have no interest in DMc and would prefer a DL (Long, Dorsey or Ellis):
-
Yea Lane Kiffin said that. But Lane doesn’t get to make the personnel decisions. Al Davis does, and Davis loves speed. McFadden still looks like the probable pick for them.
-
I realize this is a composite list, but if we take a tight end with our second pick with all the talent listed in this list and all the talent that will be there on draft day, I suspect I will barf.

That would be nice to get Gholston and Flowers. It would really solidify our Defense. Flowers is considered one of the best 3-4 CB in the draft.
-
If kiffin is saying they have no interest in McFadden, then that means they really want him. No body reveals who they want.
-
I want Mcfadden and a CB or DL then Hardy or best WR available. We need playmakers on both sides and our D looks better than our O. If Pace is anything like Mo Lewis(maybe he can break Brady?) I will be thrilled and if we can find another ILB we might have something going. If we can generate pressure I can def see a winning season.

Harlan,
There is a mistake on the draft muncher, at 36 it says Kansas City, but that is our pick, so I am assuming the pick is right, but the team name is wrong. Hopefully we are taking Flowers and not a TE, because I will be barfing right along side with you if we do.

Great post Joe

Best-case scenario: the on-again D-Rob trade finally goes through for a 4th and 5th, which would allow us to trade up into the 3rd or even the 2nd if we see someone we really like.
-
It’d be nice to land another top-60 pick, looking at this list.
-
I for one hope this muncher is a little off, if the Raiders come out of the first 2 rounds with McFadden and Hardy I’m gonna feel like they stole our lunch money.
-
I hope the Jets don’t take Brandon Flowers. He is more fit for a cover 2 scheme because of his slower 40 time. 4.55 at the combine. We all know Mangini likes his CBs to be solid at man to man coverage because that is what he run unlike Belicheck who runs more of an island zone coverage for his CBs. Plus the 3-4 Defense has little to do with secondary coverage schemes. Hence the 7 players that make up the 3-4 are in the box the other 4 are the secondary

There’s no pick 31 listed, so overall pick 36 is actually 37 and makes it Early Doucet.
-
Hopefully, Mock Drafts playout. If Ryan and Dorsey are Top-5 selections, Jet will land an elite running back in Run DMC or Vernon Gholston to pressure the Brady Bunch.
Gosder Cherilus – I wish he played LT too.
Felix Jones – Why break up the Razorbacks? Draft Run DMC too!
Quentin Groves – If we don’t get Vernon Gholston in the first round, try, try again!
Antoine Cason – Another stud to reign in Randy Moss.
Dan Connor – Another stud to stop the run.
James Hardy – We get our Too Tall Howard Carmichael-type possession receiver in the second and speed burner in the fourth. Just ask Big Ben (Roethlisberger) if he misses Plaxico.
Hopefully, one of these studs will fall to the Jets at the top of the second round. Yet, still great value at CB, OT and ILB if they don’t. I know Flacco and Davis are a reach at this selection and there positions are more ‘nice-to-have’ than ‘need-to-have,’ but I really like ‘em!

I loved Mo Lewis, I hope we will all love Calvin Pace even more
-
yea what about kendall?
-
Perhaps Flowers was inspired by all the success the lead singer from The Cure had playing running back with the Vikings?
-
Bent please tell me that video didn’t make it to the UK? Is any place safe from american pop culture?
-
LOL
You guys are out of your minds.Any one else hear about Hardy and his off-field issues?
Doesn’t really inspire the Mangini character.

What about the pick from Skins for Kendal? Shouldn’t we have another 5th or 6th rounder from them?
