It is a frightening sign that with Coles due money the next two years that Chad might actually be the starter.
Matt needs to be free to be Matt.
I guess we all have to get ready for some “Chad Ball”… It might not be pretty and it might not be glamorous but it is effecient. If our revamped defense comes through and the o line is as good as we think its gona be, then Chad will be fine behind center.
I don’t mind WHO is chosen as QB but I do mind Thomases kicking a QB to the curb right after saying Johnson is right to take a longer view of management. The word choice of “vindictive” is exactly what it is. Find a guy to blame and kick him to the curb. Fortunately, it’s only journalism and not reality! These guys would RUIN a team.
That was a funny piece by Throwing Into Traffic. Especially liked the ending.
If it wasn’t for McCareins’ McCougar of a mother (who happens to be a PhD AND a J.D.) I could see him talking like that.
Thomases is right. Having an “open competition” between Chad and KC will just doom KC to failure. Chad is a veteran and will be able to move the offense better than KC, both in practice and in pre-season games (if Chad gets the 2nd half 4th stringers, he’ll look like Montana). KC may show more “upside” but I doubt that he’ll outperform Chad in the pre-season. If Mangini and Tannenbaum are serious about the “open competition,” then KC should be very concerned and that concern would grow exponentially if the Jets draft a QB in the first 3 rounds.
They’ll alternate starting, just like last year. Any drafted QB will get mop up duty with a handful of plays they can reasonably accomplish. I don’t think either CP or KC will see a new QB as a threat this year. Next, maybe. But they will each have this year to postpone that happening.
