Frank, I never said he was a great NT. I agree with you, he is a DT and was played out of postion. But, the surrounding cast and the defensive game plan has had a lot to do with his success. If the center and guards don't have to worry about a rushing LB, and if the DE's don't do their jobs -- it all falls back on D-Rob. If D-Rob was so bad - how come David Harris was able to be all over the field. If D-Rob was not doing his job, Harris would have had an O-lineman in his facemask. His record of tackles and assists show you that, if played in the right position, he could be a force. Stop listening to the media - they change with the weather. If D-Rob comes out and has a good game - he's an All-Pro. If he has a bad game - why didn't we take a seventh round pick for him. No one does it by themselves.

Bent, I thought that Vilma had a back issue that worried some clubs when he was drafted, but I "mis-remembered." It was his knee.

Harvilis, a NT in a 3-4 is not suppose to pile up the tackles. A NT in a 3-4 is suppose to take on two defenders, take up space, so the play making linebackers can make the plays without having to deal with blockers. D-Rob will never be a good NT in a 3-4. How many times did he not do his job last season? He was effective in his first season with Mangini but took a huge step back last season which is why they do not want to pay for his services.

I would absolutely trade this guy just to save the cap money and get a draft pick in the 5th round on someone who would actually be useful this season.

You guys are really beating up on D-Rob. Did you ever consider that it is a team game and that D-Rob is only as good as his surrounding cast. Make sure to include coaching in that cast. If you compare D-Rob's stats to any NT in the NFL, he has double the amount of tackles of most NT's and just as many, if not more sacks. Check it out. As far as his being injury-prone, I believe he has missed two games in his career (none last year).
Is his contract a good one -- no way.
Is he as bad as most of you think - no way.
I would keep him to back up Kris Jenkins and occasionally play along side him. Remember, it is a team game. Also, stop listening to the media! Half way through this past season, they were shipping Eli Manning out of town -- now he's their poster boy.

What he can do is steamroll ahead toward the QB sometimes, and that's where the Sapp comparisons always came from. Doesn't Denver rotate their D line a lot? That would work to D Rob's advantage. He can get a multi year deal if he gets cut, and I'm sure that's what he's after.

ian: I just like have him there because he wouldnt get blown off the line. Good for run support. It would be a different story if we were in a 4-3 and he had to rush... IF he lost 5-10 lbs his knees would hold up better and if Jenkins goes down or isnt up to it he can slide back. Rotating quality players worked for the giants last year some what?

i agree with aticus....if we can get anything for him it would be a victory especially a second day pick....

its a hell of a lot better then nothing... and u never kno what these second day picks can turn into....we could be trading drob for a future pro bowler..... i would rather take that shot in the dark then cut him and not get anything!!!!!

GO JETS!!!!! I will be at the draft and i cant wait!!!!!!
