With all the hype surrounding the NFL, college football, and the draft, you sometimes forget how young these guys are. I’m not saying that to excuse anyone’s behavior, but rather to highlight the risks involved with all draft choices. From the beginning of their tenure, Tangini have stressed that one of their most important criteria is to try to assess how important football is to the player. The weed stuff raises a flag put there are more factors to look at. If this front office has proved anything it’s that they do their homework. I’m sure it will be the same this time.

Lots of people have smoked weed. Both of the last two presidents probably (only one was successful but people should have known the other was an idiot). How come teams aren’t concerned about alcohol use but they go ape over marijuana. As far as I’m concerned, pot is a much less harmful substance than alcohol. One is just more mainstream and legal.

mike mayock on nfl network lastnight said that he and all teams were aware of the weed issue with these guys at least 4 months ago…so not real sure if i’m buying this whole “that player is our board” talk from some of these teams. He did mention the stupidity factor that many teams are concerned with where you know you r gonna get tested and you smoke anyway.

I was going to post the Rhodes link. So, now all the “Chicken Littles” out there predicting that Coles’ and Rhodes’ contracts were going to go “Kendall” can calm down. I just made up “Kendall” as a noun for contract foul up that leads to being “Clarked”, which is a verb I made up meaning to be royally f***ed by someone’s dereliction of duty, like Don Corleone was Clarked by Fredo when he was shot picking fruit from the stands in Little Italy.
