Jay Fiedler Playing Beach Volleyball

Remember when the Jets brought in Jay Fiedler to back up Chad Pennington? What ever happened to him? Why, he’s playing professional beach volleyball, of course.

“It’s definitely a lot tougher than it looks,” Fiedler said. “I don’t know if it was tougher than playing football, but these guys are great athletes in their own right. It was out of my comfort zone a little bit, but I made a good showing out of it.”

No word yet on whether he’s had to face Maverick & Goose Merlin or Iceman & Slider yet.

I was at that 2005 Jags game when he injured his shoulder after Pennington had done the same. Since the only previous game I had been to that point was the one where Dennis Byrd was seriously injured, I honestly considered never going to another game again. I probably still should, as they’re batting a whopping .000 when I’ve gone to games.

This post is worthless without pictures. I’m sure you can find some generic beach volleyball shots to enhance it…
