Darren McFadden and the Backpack of Aries

What a name for a new spinoff of a Harry Potter series!
Word is that Darren McFadden was wandering around LaGuardia airport today on a plane to Cinci with a rather burly bodyguard and an attractive female companion with a Saint Louis Rams backpack & luggage tag — with his name on it. Although some might see this as cause for concern to Jets fans coveting the player, let’s consider a few things we know about him.
- Darren pimped out a Crown Vic.
- Darren doesn’t come from a family of means, so he doesn’t have a lot of stuff.
- Darren has a line of credit at a bank that his agent said this weekend he has yet to touch.
- Billy Ocean’s song “Carribbean Queen” was song playing allegedly during a scuffle a few months back in a Little Rock piano bar.
What does the last item have to do with anything? I have no idea, but in Potter books, it’s always some obscure thing that everyone overlooks that ends up being crucially important so I included it.
Honestly, I think it’s a story of a kid who was given a nice gift on his visits, and it serves the purpose to which it’s suited … carrying stuff. I’m sure the Jets gave him a macrame’d set of jean shorts with his name embroidered.
We’ll look into it, but Scott Linehan has bigger fish to fry than take Darren McFadden at #2 when he has even a gimpy Stephen Jackson under contract. And although McFadden has fallen in some mocks as far as Cinci, it’s just a routine trip to a top ten team.
All the same, what was he doing in NYC? Did he have another visit (it would be like at least his fourth) with the Jets?

The one thing that scares me about mcfadden is that every highlight video I see him in he never gets touched on his touchdown runs. When he does get touched he doesn’t break many tackles. His highlights remind me alot more of reggie bush than adrian petersen.

“Schefter says he’s “looking for Vernon Gholston” to be Oakland’s choice. Schefter usually has the inside scoop on anything Raiders-related, from reporting Art Shell’s firing several weeks in advance to revealing Lane Kiffin and Al Davis’ back-and-forth. It’d be hard not to trust him on this”
Well this is something I don’t like to see. Makes it look like McFadden is gonna fall to the Jets. Sigh.

I heard he was looking for a place to settle down. He brought his woman, to help him pick out the apartment. I heard that the burly bodyguard was Mangold. Mangold said to tell Al, “Don’t worry, Al, nobody will be touching him. With me and Faneca, he will be into the second level without putting on any moves.”

he was at the ranger game weds night. word is the jets “wined and dined” him. when a local reporter tried to ask him a few ?’s…it didnt happen.

The woman with McFadden was in fact his sister, Gaylon. She just graduated from the University of Memphis. He said she was going to be living with him while he’s in NY…if they draft him.
