Rumor Mongering: D-Rob to Philly ‘A Long Shot’

by Bassett on April 21st, 2008 at 12:46 pm

There’s a bunch of fresh rumor-mongering afoot, just five days from the draft …

Source: Philadelphia Daily News
Rumor: Iggs have no interest in D-Rob
Validity: Seems pretty legit. Robertson would have to fight to start in Philadelphia, and he’d want more than the Eagles would likely be willing to pay. Someone was trying to stir up some excitement, but it doesn’t look like it’s happening.
My Thoughts: Oops, guess that plan backfired to bluff serious interest for Robertson and multiple clubs. At this point, it looks like it’s the Broncos, or no one.

Too bad we couldn’t work out some form of a D-Rob for Lito Sheppard deal.

I’ll take a cheese steak for Drob at this point. We could give it to Brick an dhope it adds a couple of pounds. Win win.

It’s a little concerning that bradaway is still part of the scouting/drafting structure and he traded 2 # 1′s for a player that at the age of 26 can’t pass a physical. Maybe our medical staff blew it but this is a pretty big mistake. My understanding is this was something they knew about before the draft.

I wouldn’t give up on CIN being interested in DRob quite yet. If they miss on Dorsey or Ellis in the draft, I expect we will hear from them. Their initial concerns had to do with $ as well as the knees. Dewayne’s sal demands will probably be modified after realizing the market isn’t exactly beating the door down for his services, and the move to CIN gets him close to home.
