Word is this is a deep draft. The more picks the merrier. I was talking to a buddy, and I mentioned somethign in jest that we both looked at, and it made sense. Assume the rumors of loving Dorsey and Matt Ryan true, the Jets can get Atlanta's three 2nd round picks, and a late round pick, to give Atlanta the opportunity to get back into the second round.

The Jets are still just simply less talented than most teams in the league. Adding 4 players from from 34-48 is probably more beneficial than #6, especially if you look at the names floating. Getting a Groves (maybe), CB, WR and OL is a distinct possibiltity in that scenario.

Definitely trade down if it is a possibility unless Chris Long is there.

Trading down has always been the best option, there is not even a question, there is nobody that will be left that will be worth the guarnteed money that a 6 pick gets. I could see them trading down twice into the middle of the round and picking up another 2nd and 3rd round pick. That would be the smart thing to do.

I'd love for a trade-down to happen because of Ryan. The problem is that I think most teams feel they have to get up to #5, not #6, to assure themselves of getting Ryan. KC has done a great job of selling their love of Ryan, and while I think it's all BS (I think they're going o-line or d-line), teams have to at least acknowledge the possibility that Ryan's their guy if they can't trade out of the 5 pick.

The ravens have pick #38 in the 2nd round, I would be all for trading down to #8 to gain #38, then we have #36 & #38 and can get three premier players in the top #38. That sure makes up for our lack of a 3rd round pick.
