Film Room: Quick Draft Thoughts

Here’s a quick post this morning from my hotel room … it’s nothing you haven’t heard — other than I’m cheap.

im feeling hungover!
im felling the jets are going to trade up to 4 to grab mcfadden the raiders have 4 rb. they dont need mcfadden and they hate to take this pick because he is the best player availble watch what im saying yar will thank me ;later and dont be surprise if we trade #36 to get litto sheppard he is better than any cb. in this draft period.
The jets will not trade up. They will preserve picks or trade down. There are a few pieces that they need to pick up to complete the foundation that they are building.
Here is what we need to be concerned about. The Rams take Long No. 2, the Falcon’s take Dorsey No. 3.
The Raiders: If they take McFadden at 4, then the Chiefs will take Gholston at 5 or trade to New England for Gholston.
Leaving us at 6 with Ryan or Leodis. At this point look for us to trade down and possibly with a sign and trade to Baltimore or someone else.
The Raiders: It they take Gholston at 4, the Chiefs will not take McFadden and may trade out to Dallas but I think Dallas will wait to save some money and trade with us for McFadden. Either we keep McFadden or we part with him for two first rounder and their second round pick, I know it goes over the draft pick value board a little bit, but this is McFadden, throw in some Jerry Jones and we should walk away with two 1s and one 2
Now if the Rams take Dorsey, will that force the Falcons to take Ryan or will they luck out and trade out or will they take Ellis that high. Falcons take Ryan. The Raiders take Long, the Chiefs take Gholston and we end up with McFadden.
In this scenario if the Raiders take McfAdden, we get either Gholston or Long.
We could end up in a bad situation though, I guess we just have to have some faith.

Well I drank too much and it’s not even 7am yet on the East Coast, but I here I am hiding in the bathroom so I don’t wake my girlfriend, wondering which 21 year old kid the Jets are going to make a millionaire many, many times over. Must be the draft.
P.S. Last year I was at a bachelor party at Jazz Fest in New Orleans. We’d gone huge the night before and I choose to rally the troops on Saturday morning by pounding a pint of Jack Daniels as I roused em out of bed. Well, I didn’t make it to concert grounds. I spent the whole day vomiting with a smile on my face as I watched Gang Green snag Revis and then double dip for the Hitman Harris. Ah, memories. Here’s to another good draft.
7am on the West Coast… that’s how effin early it is…
