Jets’ Needs On Day Two

The Jets will of course try to scoop up some Undrafted Free Agents in the next few days, but going into

ILB? — Does Gholston force someone inside?
CB? — Do the Jets think that the team has a second starter on the roster?  Can they find another depth player, or a guy with upside?
DL? — Will the Jets be looking for a replacement to Shaun Ellis they can groom?
OL? — You can never have enough depth here, the Jets might need a guy who can backup Mangold, and might be on the lookout for a Interior / backup Center.

More later!  We’ll be in the Hall with Bent for a while!

  1. i could be wrong but wouldnt of it looked real good if we had vilma and harris inside with gholston and pace on the outside? dam that just gave me chills thinking about with that being said i think we need a good ilb and i think we need another cb if we can get that in todays draft i think we will have a really good D. the one thing im worried about is out QB situation i have read in numerous places that there is not a great qb in the 09 draft which makes us pretty much stuck with what we have for a couple of years

  2. Bassett, just wanted to say excellent list.

No Cimini like RB just to complain about McDaddy. No QB like we will get anyone who will make a difference at this point.

I think my order though would be:

DE (Kenyon and Ellis were really bad last season),
ILB (with OLB solid, lets get some depth better than Kassel)
OL (if this has the best value, pull the trigger in spite of need for DE and ILB)
CB (not likely but one can hope)

  3. we don’t have enough picks to draft for our needs!

  4. I’m still hoping for a Tall WR or a ILB either to start or add some depth. Secondary help also

  5. The Jets definitely need some depth at ILB, there are some pretty decent players on the board this late. Followed by some depth on the OL, and CB.
