I really like Beau Bell and hope we have a chance to nab him. He’s an old school LB who can tackle. Pairing him inside with Harris will shore up the run defense immensely, a sore need in the last few years.
I would not be surprised with another CB like Branch to fall to us. As a defense that needs to protect against the pass with more pass happy offenses like NE out there, it makes sense to get as much depth at this position.
I still would like a QB though, at least to provide some more competition to the incumbents.

  2. avatar MB927LI says:

Yea Beau Bell would be a great addition I wouldn’t mind bunching the last of our picks together to get him, I think he can make an immediate impact like David harris did although I doubt he is as good as him.

  3. avatar Cuervo says:

Woodyard or Bell will be greta picks.. and allow for the ILB spot to have some healthy competition

I love branch.. he has a great combination of size and speed for the CB position.. somethign not seen often. My only concern since he is still there is that he is being looked at as a saftey conversion.. otherwise he would have been drafted in the 1st 3 rounds..

  4. avatar Charlie says:

What about Pedro Sosa from Rutgers if he could fall to the Jets I think he could be a very good tackle in the pros.

  5. avatar Cuervo says:

    Anvril gone (Detroit, R3 (92))

Mario Mannigham a possibility if he gets past the 3rd round?

  6. avatar Frank L says:

would love Manningham but I doubt the character-conscious Jets would go after him. That guy has great ability to separate even though he doesn’t have great 40 times, and has great ball-skills too.

  7. avatar Cuervo says:

the only charactaer issue was that he made a foolish decision to lie about using marjinuana when asked at the combine. Wrong advice escpially since now a days poeple can find out about anything…

he got caught in a lie.. but getting a 2nd round type talent in the 4th round is value..

  8. avatar swizzle says:

Manningham just went to the Giants at 95. I like the CB from UCONN or a ILB in the 4th.

  9. avatar Cuervo says:

Mario is gone (Giants Rd3 (95))

    Pats took a QB?

  10. avatar Cuervo says:

Will Justin Miller play CB exlusively this year seeing how Leon has shown good return ability?

  11. avatar Jonathan says:

NE’s new QB got props from Gruden recently.

  12. avatar subwayfare says:

Past took a QB? They probably heard the Jets liked him.

  13. avatar Johnny Styne says:

Okay so if Manningham is All-Pro and Keller is Doug Jolley then this will go down as one of the most horrendous Jets decisions.

  14. avatar subwayfare says:

Caldwell went to Bengals. I liked him. Thanks, Chad Johnson.

  15. avatar Cuervo says:

round 4 , Bell woodyard and Branch still there.. so if the jets have them on their board.. they should be picking one of them

  16. avatar Cuervo says:

I think the jets wont draft a WR here.. none on the board are goign to unseat Cole ro Cotchery.. and i dont think they are better than Smith

Plus.. if they trade baker.. they can probbaly trade baker for a teams #3 or #4 WR during preseason/post draft

  17. avatar Cuervo says:

dammit.. raiders traded with Cowboys… took our CB!!!

    Branch off the board

  18. avatar alex says:

    Beginning of the fourth
think Chris Johnson (wr) and Josh Johnson (qb) are still on the board. Correct me if I am wrong. I wouldn’t mind picking up either one at this point of further down. I believe we are probably going to hit the secondary. Probably look for someone to challenge Elam.

  19. avatar swizzle says:

ah crap Raiders just traded up to take Branch from UCONN at 100.

  20. avatar Cuervo says:

    jets on the clock

  21. avatar alex says:

As I type, Oakland and St. Lois took Branch(cb) and King(cb) (I think King was a good value here)

  22. avatar jet4lif says:

    might as well trade back….

  23. avatar Cuervo says:

trade? maybe because both LB are there?

  24. avatar jet4lif says:

there they did it…. im glad

  25. avatar swizzle says:

trade down to packers to ???

  26. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

    more picks

  27. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

2nd time this draft we traded with packers

  28. avatar Cuervo says:

pack have 3 4th round picks.. 2 for 1?? i just hope those LBs are still there

  29. avatar jet4lif says:

    anyone knows the details?

  30. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

    they have the 113, 128, 135 in the 3rd

  31. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

I’m assuming they moved back to 113, and possibly picked up one of the others, or possibly a 5th, just speculating

  32. avatar swizzle says:

yup they got the 113, not sure what else.

  33. avatar swizzle says:

and picked up 162 in the fifth, nice job FO

  34. avatar Cuervo says:

Bell off the board.. browns traded up for him.. he owuld have been a great ILB in the 3-4

  35. avatar swizzle says:

Bell just went to the browns at 104
