Jets Sign RB Jehuu Caulcrick
The Jets have signed another Running Back. Jehuu Caulcrick (6′0″ 255 lbs) was formerly a Michigan State Spartan RB, who was used in goal line situations for the team, totalling 21 touchdowns in his senior campaign.
The Jets were one of five teams who were interested in signing Caulcrick as an undrafted free agent after the running back was not selected tin he seven rounds of the draft. The other calls Caulcrick fielded were from the Buffalo Bills, the Carolina Panthers, the St. Louis Rams and the Indianapolis Colts.
“Carolina and the Jets showed the biggest interest,” Caulcrick said. ”I talked to the Bills, but the circumstances weren’t right.”
He’s the fullback type, and he’s the thumper style player that Mangini likes. All the same, with Tony Richardson in place, Caulcrick might be someone who the Jets will use this summer, and might have an outside shot at competing for a spot with Stacy Tutt.

I actually remember seeing this guy in a few games, playing with that Ringer fellow in the Spartans’ backfield. I also used him in College Football 2008 against my buddy who went to Michigan (during lunch breaks from work, we both work near my apartment, haha).
The guy has some ability. Certainly a nice FA pickup.
wat about Ron Girault from rutgers?
21 TD’s in one season? In the Big Ten? Definitely worth a flyer as a goal-line and short-yardage guy.
Anybody hear about Bowman, the WR from Oklahoma State? He would be a steal as an UFA. He’s about 6′4″ and was projected to go fairly early.
He’s a great athlete that was used near the goal line and away from it as he had 872 yards this season as he split time with the smaller Javon Ringer who had 1447 yards.
Played jehuu in high school hes a damn good running back. Hes got a lot of possibilities
Nice signing. Think he will beat out Stacey Tutt.
NM Tutt got cut.
i like this pick up…he can learm from richardson and who knows…maybe a jet for a long time to come…just my thoughts…
i know jehuu he went out with my sister and hes going to be really good hes going to beat out tutt and hes going to learn from richardson hes going to be a strait out tank!
[...] addition to RB Danny Woodhead, RB Jehuu Caulcrick, and DE Bryan Mattison, here’s a list of another nine players that the Jets are bringing in [...]
i played jehuu in high school and damn is he a great athlete, and hes only person i know who could set records for shot, disc ,and the 100 yard dash in a state track meet. Great speed and strength and a lot of potential.
I remember trying to tackle Jehuu in high school ball I couldn’t! haha played against him for 3 years in high school. hes the real deal
Jehuu is a tremendous player. I too have gone against him in many sports in high school and was friends with him before I graduated. If he stays committed to his body, and stays in shape, he has the potential to make Jerome Bettis look like a tard. He has excelled at each level. If there were no Ringer at MSU, Jehuu’s stats would’ve be gawdy.
Jehuu Caulcrick’s addition to the Jets will only bring class to the team. This guy’s the real deal–honest, moral, hard-working and an absolute truck–a lot like John Riggins in Washington or more recently, Mike Alsott in Tampa Bay. Given him the ball with 2 yards or less and you can book it.
You can learn all you need to know about Jehuu from the tape of the 2007 Penn State game. He took over the second half. It looked like none on the PS defense wanted any part of him. It took 2 or more to bring him down. Highlight: 7 or so minutes to go, 4th & 5 from the MSU 25 – fake punt, stopped going right, reversed his field left and picked up 19 yards. Spartans scored on the drive to win.
