17 Interceptions is Hard to Beat
Both Erik Boland of Newsday and Matt Mosley of ESPN noted the list yesterday of free agents we posted, and Mosley gave his thoughts on players likely to stay with the team.
The Jets are bringing in two kids from Hofstra and another from Wagner College on Staten Island. I’ve actually seen the Wagner kid, cornerback Alfred Phillips, on film and he makes a ton of plays. I don’t care what level you play on, 17 interceptions is pretty impressive.
Also look for the Nebraska center to stick. He and Bill Callahan have history.
Woodhead is the prize player and the Jets do love their free agent rookies. Since these players make so little comparatively to free agents or first rounders, finding guys that can maximize their value for the money spent is important.
