Brady Doesn’t Respect A Certain Four Letter Team That Wears Green
Please pardon the “invective” in this post. I’ll try to return to my normal WWCD (What Would Costas Do?) ways once clear of this post …
I missed this interview yesteday on WEEI (I could only listen to so much yesterday) but many of you have made me aware that Tom Brady isn’t a big fan of the Jets. You can listen to audio here, skip to about the 7:45 mark.
Tom Brady: And I have a lot of respect for [the Giants] because they work hard, and they have a lot of great leaders on that team. It’s kind of a blue-collar team. When you do lose a game, you at least want to lose to guys you respect. And I certainly respect those guys. I don’t respect everybody, but I do respect the Giants.
Glenn Ordway: Who don’t you respect?
Fred Smerlas: Don’t tell us, we know … (laughing)
Glenn Ordway: Can we get that list?
Tom Brady: Yeah, there’s four letters, in the, in the uh, in their name.
Glenn Ordway: Green, green, the green guys, those guys?
Tom Brady: Yeah, exactly.
Although they don’t say much during this interchange, see if you can hear co-hosts Pete Sheppard and Fred Smerlas actually getting sexually aroused when they hear Brady insinuate this …
The fact that Tom Brady just referred to the Giants as “kind of a blue collar” team is proof that all the time shagging Giselle has left him with extremely low testosterone levels, and thus unable to distinguish between “blue collar” and “white collar” teams …Oops, I am forgetting that Tiki isn’t on the team anymore and Shockey didn’t play, so the 2006 Giants Diva Factor was divided by at least ten in the recent SuperBowl, my bad.
The non-respected team in question has come close a few times in the past few years, with one of only two in-division wins against the Pats in the past two years. We’ll see if it’s hard for him to lose to a team he doesn’t respect come this fall.
This team is now one that reflects its management and coaching staff, so we’ll see how things go down in Week 2. Maybe Brady will change his tune to the normal robotic responses after that game when Gholston and the rest of the revamped front seven drills him into the turf repeatedly .
I’ll do everything I can to be on hand so I can ask him personally what color collars the Jets wore in the post-game press conference.

AL, can’t really call an audio clip “bulletin board” materrial, but if Mangini is half the innovator I think he is I bet every ipod in that locker room has this clip on it, he should even be blasting it with all his favorite jams at training camp this summer too.

Clearly, Tom Brady has the acumen to differentiate between a ‘blue-collar’ football team and a ‘white-collar’ football team. After all, NFL guys don’t make much more than a factory worker in West Virginia, right?

When Tom Brady was in the 10th grade, his parents hired a personal trainer for him to gain weight and work on his technique.
Do blue-collar families have the resources to hire a full time personal trainer for their 15 year old?
It’s hard to hear what he’s saying when all his words are garbled because of that silver spoon in his mouth.

That is one of the best complements that anyone from another team has given this franchise in a long time, especially from Mr. Superstar himself. Ding, Ding the dynasty days of the Pats are nearly over and everybody knows it, its easy being on a winning team; let’s see how the Superstar handles a competitive division with no tapes and an aging crew. Tom is going to get acquainted with our young, fast D very quickly.

Translation: I am frightened of the Giants because they hurt me. I don’t have any respect for the Jets because Uncle Bill told me not to have any, although admittedly I am a bit scared to say their name in case they hurt me too. Oh, and I am not educated enough to know the difference between blue and white collar workers.

I would be very careful if I were Tom Brady because those guys in Green are a bit different from the guys in Green last year.
I dont think that he is going to have much of an option after week 2 about respecting the Jets. A few shots from his blind side will surely change his tone of voice and have him wishing that he didnt stir the pot.
The pats will be in for a looooong game if they think that the Jets are a 4-12 team. Despite the fact that we play the tough every game with far less talent on our team, he has the nerve to say he doesnt repect the Jets. So we will his reaction after week 2.

where exactly does the QB of the dirtiest team in the league – in terms of the way they play the game, running up the score and trying to hurt opposing players, not to mention their history cheating ….have any relevant opinion on what teams are worthy of respect?

Give me a break guys, every offseason we tell ourselves that the Jets are legit this year, that we’re going to break Brady in half, etc. etc., and every year they kick our asses and advance deep into the playoffs. Remember when we signed Ty Law? Thomas Jones? Until something changes Brady can talk all he wants. Why should he respect us? Because we beat them in 2006? I don’t mean to be the fly in the ointment, but seriously. The guy can say what he wants.

PAT- We can say whatever we want. I think Brady is low class for more than football and ,dare I say it ,beyond even being a Jets fan. You don’t have to join but we could get blown out both games and as long as I see that future HOFer limp off the field I’m happy.

I don’t want him hurt, I’d rather see the look on his face if we can build a better team than them and beat them with no excuses. He just revealed how much he would hate to lose to us, so there is added incentive for it to happen.
Funny he should talk about respect. His disrespectfulness – and he is not alone in New England in having this trait – is the main reason I dislike the guy (remember their treatment of Anthony Smith just because he tried to motivate his teammates by guaranteeing a win?)

Brady is truly a competitor and someone to hate if you’re a Jets fan. It is no surprise that he doesn’t respect the Jets because just like every clone in their clubhouse, Bill Bellicheat HATES the Jets. I think it’s part of their induction into the club to beat your opponent but especially when it’s the NYJ. Jerod Mayo already has it tatooed into his skull.
That being said, how long will it be before we can honestly beat them on a consistent basis until like Najy said above “Respect is earned.” Hopefully it starts this year.
