Daily Links: Keller & Manningham Comparisons Already?

  1. I would like volunteer to be a guest judge for the flight crew tryouts

  2. Not scared of D-Rob. What is he suppossed to say to the press? “I dont compete hard and I have a bad knee”. Everything will be sunny with him in Denver until game 1 of the season. I expect him to be average at best this year.

  3. Im so bored with Belicheat and this whole Spy Gate. What makes me so pissed off,is that this so-called Guru keeps claiming he misinterpreted the rules…Cmon! Even in this interview, he claims how the Pats always disguise, screen and change there signals so opposing teams don’t cheat and steal them. The TRUTH will come out!

  4. i cant believe a.clark got picked up…bellacheat is just that…a liar and a cheater…i cant wait to see are defense and ghoulston in action…and i hope d-rob plays great so we can get a 2nd rounder for him…as always…just my thoughts…

  5. What I cannot believe is the trade to Denver. He can play two thirds of the plays, sit out the last game after they clinch, make pro bowl and we get nothing.

I find it hard to believe he is not more valuable to us as insurance against Ellis and Coleman continuing to s_ck in a 3-4 or if one of them gets hurt than nothing.

This trade was not better than cutting him. And, we could have done that in late August.

  6. I don’t believe that report was accurate, Harlan. I’m sure another one came out with the correct position. I think we will most likely end up with at least a 6th rounder if what came out later was correct.

In any case, keeping him for that extra amount of time to try to swing a deal didn’t cost them anything, so it made sense to spend that extra time to try and maximise the return for him, even if the ultimate result was the same as cutting him, no?

  7. Bent, if the report was inaccurate, that would be good. But, I was responding to what was written.

Iif it was accurate, I would have held onto DRobb and not made the trade. As written, the report indicates there is little chance we will get anything for giving them OTAs and Training Camp to maximize DRobb’s skills to their benefit. Time with a player has value. We could have held onto to DRobb and lost nothing cutting him the last day before contracts were guaranteed except the minimum daily payment to vets and the June bonus payment.

Waiting, again if the written report was true, could not have cost us anything regarding his value because there is little chance that as written we will get anything. But it would have put pressure on Denver or a team that loses a DT in a 4-3 or a DE in a 3-4 to offer us something.

  8. There are no comparisons between Manningham and Keller. The Giants can only wish they had gotten Keller. Keller is twice the receiver that Manningham is.

  9. Yea well I just hope that keller turns out better than Hardy becuase i still think we whiffed on that one… Whats worse is that we have to face him twice a year… ouch!
