It all sounds good and I hope it is true. The certainly sound better than last year with the Kendall distraction/sour grapes.
This year, I think D’Brick is the key. If this kid has actually improved (weight, strength, tenacity, skill), then we are a new team. If he hasn’t and we need to keep putting someone on that side to help him and keep a RB in to chip somebody, we are going to be ineffective due to inconsistency. It’s the one thing you can’t improve on by just adding other players when you have it at an all important position like LT.

From watching this video it just seems like there is a different vibe in camp, though it’s only OTA’s it just seems like the vibe is completely different. I recall last year during training camp when the whole Pete Kendell ordeal went down I just had this feeling that it was going to be a long season and lo and behold we all know what went down last year. We took some positives from last year though and from just reading and watching interviews it just seems things on the right track so far.
From this video alone I get this sense of reasurrance. Just listening to Thomas Jones an his remarks about the new acquistions and the approach he and the rest of the guys are taking this offseason I just have this really good feeling. Though I’m sure every team probably says the same thing and so on, but Coach Mangini and the rest of the Staff went nuts this off-season for a reason and it seems to have made the rest of the team energized and ready to roll for the regular season.
THink about it TJ knows how much the O-line has improved and Callahan was signed to make things work. Dustin Keller is going to end up being a absolute STUD. He sounds like the type of guy who is a competitor and guy who loves to learn and improve on his skills. The staff knew exactly what they were doing when they got him. THink about it the starting offense in a spread formation will look like this:
coles and cotchery out wide, washington, keller, baker or stuckey in the slots and either jones or washington in the backfield. These guys are all playmakers and the O-line is solid and there will be cohesion with the group there are veterens in the group that have seem the great, the good and the bad; there is expereince there that will be a tremendous benefit to the offense this year.
As for the QB competition; both QB’s know what the situation is and they will make each other better for it. It’s only OTA’s like I mentioned earlier, but things are getting done and I feel it’s going to blossom into something great on both sides of the ball. I’m very optimistic, but why not Mangini and company seem to be on the same page and working to make things right after last years down year.
